2002 Viper Red R/T 10. - Autopia.org

2002 Viper Red R/T 10.
Hey guys - this is the car from a few other threads, I finally got to work on it this Sunday for the owner (who drove 4 hours from Windsor, ON!). It was a great car to work on. Overall the condition was good for a 7 year old car, it only has ~6,000 miles on it. Swirls were light, the biggest issue was an abundance of RIDs I had to chase pretty much all over. I think the car has been well cared for, so no real wash swirls, just general usage scratches. This made the paint a little dull. The job took just over 9 hours. The poor owner had to tough out a 17 hour day with driving!

Process was:

Clay clay clay

Sand w/2000 & 3000 unigrit in ~10 or so areas for RIDs
Compound Megs #105 via purple foamed wool ~1500 rpm
Meguiars 205 via LC white pad ~1300
Menz FPII via black pad ~1400

The Megs 205 left behind almost no holograms, just a few light ones here and there that I probably could have reduced with 205 on a black pad or something, but I wanted the extra kick from FPII.

LSP was Poorboys EX followed by Collinite 915.

The pics came out well, but I am silly and used my wifes camera and forgot to set the ISO lower, so it was at 3200.

So some of the befores are wonky, it just shows RIDS, not really any of the swirling.

The roof had been dropped, so it had some deep scratches which had been touched up. I popped out the touch up and re-did them, then sanded and buffed.
