Agree about the FGT and disagree about the price difference.
Can't touch a decent FGT for less than 175K now and thats a pretty good distance from this car.
I have the same car(s) as Bushido 97 BW GTS and 2010 ACR.
Sell them both to get into a FGT but where are they?

The gaps do almost look like the same old Viper gaps since 92'. That rubber padding that the clamshell is sitting on should have been recessed and hidden. The show car that I saw in person was so refined. It is what it is, take it or leave it. After all, body gaps and wheel-well gaps have always been a Viper trademark. But don't charge $125K for this though.

As a strong potential buyer of the new Viper I didn't realize that a poor fit was a characteristic of the car. Hmmm.....Is there anything else I need to know. This will be my first and quite frankly, I haven't seen enough in person to know about these short comings.

with a new look, some people will not like it and you will gain new ones (like me). Life goes on.
The last Viper retailed at 90K and the base one will be 100K. The interior alone is worth at least 10K. I do hope that you can order the carbon fiber on that model and option out other things like a different wheel but it is not big deal as you can customize your own and I can live without a "special badge".
As long as it does not leak inside and the seams are straight, I could really care less about how tight it is. I do however agree that the stance needs to be as low as possible but until we see the final production, we won't know.

That black plastic piece on the rear is horrible. I can't imagine how faded it will look the first year, not to mention all the wax/polish residue it will collect. No way I would want that. Carbon fiber, body color, and last resort should be gloss black.

Gets you away from the expensive baloney on the GTS that you don't really need or want. I was hearing SRT starts at 98K at the Woodward.

I don't really see the issue with the front end, but no carbon fiber is a big let down. I wish they would stop with the color special editions and let people just buy and customize them as they want. I think alot more people would of rather had the option of owning a blue/white with carbon fiber and black track pack wheels from the factory then a launch edition.

The chrome wheels are super outdated too.

I don't mind the front but if you like the monochrome look, it would probably cost around $300 at any body shop to do that. It's early so SRT will probably just do it based on the demand.

Hey Bill! Supposedly they are striping on the line, and clearing over it to bury the edges, and I don't really want to have them pretty much re-clear the entire car to bury the stripes. The 08 was done so well, no one could tell it wasn't a factory job, and I don't want anyone to tell on the new car. Still holding out that SRT doesn't disappoint loyal buyers, but we'll see. Curious about final pricing, warranty, etc. I can't wait to put about 20,000 miles a year on the 2013 if I can get one! I had two yellow cars previously, so can't wait to see your bumble bee

The only thing that makes sense to me after seeing the gaps and ride height nonsense is that this is the base package. The ********, no frills, unrefined version of the Gen V to satisfy all the owners that complained about the GTS being too refined and not in keeping with the original Viper. I certainly hope this launch edition isn't an indication of where the whole Viper line is going. The Stryker Red Show Car looked worlds better put together. It sits perfectly and the gaps looked proper. I didnt realize how bad this was until the up close pics showed the gaps, plastic etc. This just has to be the base car to satisfy the seriously ******** that want the old cars rude crude nature.

Sneaky Petunia? A Viper with lipstick? Never really felt those photoshops with the painted grill. The eyelashes are bad enough lol...The lipstick would just confirm the Viper is a girl

Yeah I want to pay six figures for a car and then bring it down to "Lesters House of CF" to have a cheesy wrap installed in faux CF.

Wishful thinking...gaps at the rear will probably improve, but this is the GTS.

If you do not like the cheesy wrap, then have it made of real carbon fiber for $1,000 your call.

There are no cars out there at that price with that much cf so we should really be happy with what SRT is doing.

Prefix is doing all the paint at their new facility, and the stripes will be buried. Panels will come to Conner Ave. with the stripes on. All the panels for each Viper will be painted together at the same time and move together, like the Corvette at the Bowling Green plant. I was originally disappointed the SRT stripes were going to be different---not extending past the front edge of the hood in the front and not extending past the front face of the rear spoiler in the back. Now I don't really care and like the idea of something different. They should be cheaper, too, since less panels are involved. Am now planning on the factory SRT stripes and agree embedded rather than painting later is more desirable.

Woah, Please get off your high horse. I was thinking about answering your post or not, but I think I will anyway.

I'm a huge Mopar fan, that's a fact, everyone that knows me, knows that...

BUT. There are alot of things on alot of cars that Chrysler builds that I, and many others (hope that doesn't shock you) don't agree about when they design and build them. Ride height, tires, wheels, interior, exterior, etc. If people don't complain and keep their mouths shut we would all be driving 'grey', boring, and dull cars.

Am I not right?

So while the gen V is still getting it's feet wet and everyone is SLOWLY getting more and more information about it, like it or not no matter what it is, I'm still going to support it. Everyone has their own opinion.

If you're going to poke at the trunk seam, someone should mention how nice the black piece to bumper cover seam is!

So I will, "Man, they did a great job on the seam from the matte black piece to the painted bumper!"
