Guys,

I know you all have heard this over and over again. But I just put on my Michelin PS2s after getting rid of the runflats, and oh boy! What a wonderful experience traction is. I can't understand how the previous owner had a paxton viper with the factory run craps!

Michelin PS2s I am a fan of yours now. I can't want to get back out to the track and see what she turns....

At this point everyone still running runflats, even those still showing plenty of tread, should start to think about making the switch. The age of those tires is maxing out at this point I would think.

Just curious what you guys do if you get a flat? I can see getting towed to the nearest shop, but who would stock that size tire?

I have PS2s on my '68 Corvette, and it did make a night and day difference. It finally stopped following the ruts in the road, in fact it was even better than my '06 Lexus.

I'm looking at two '04 vipers now, and one needs new tires, so I'll need to know which tires to buy if I choose that one.

Replaced my ZPs with PS2s a couple weeks after I bought my 03 last April. The rears didn't pass PA insepction anyway. It was like a whole new car. They handle pretty well in rain too. Got got in a monsoon on the PA turnpike out to Carlisle last summer, and she was pretty steady.

Now I am wondering what type of mileage are we all getting from the PS2s in the real world environment, semi aggressive driving.

i just had the PS2 put on right when i got back from VOI11 and put the car away for the winter. havent even driven on them yet i cant wait to see the difference

I need to make this switch myself. Just having a tough time replacing all four tires when they have such good tread left on them.

I'm about 2-3 weeks on ordering new tires for my 06, but some of my friends keep trying to get me to buy the Nitto Invo's because they say the turbo car won't hook up with the Michelin's. But I'm a "Driver" more than a "Street Racer" :burnout: or track car. How "Old" are the tires you purchased? If I can't get some no more than 12 months old I may wait until the "New" Michelin's come out. :drive:

Cold runflats.

Primary reason my previous viper kissed a guard rail at looooowwwww speed.

Get rid of them.

Invos are great for any type of driving. They do hook up great and I'm yet to break loose on spirited cornering. Price is about $500 less for the set and are better looking IMO.

My first choice was the Invos however, no one seems to have them in stock nor can tell me an ETA so PS2s will do for now. Next time I am getting Invos.

If you are determined to find Invos in the near future, check around with the various vendors as they are shipping in the newer Viper sizes again...

No. :( Really have good tread on all 4 but I know it's a necessary swap.
If you read this forum long enough, it shouldn't be hard to choose the best snake bite avoidance tool we have... New PS2s can save your life and or car at the very least.

If you just can't bring yourself to throwing out good tread, then make them into garage stools/chairs or something. That way your local tire installer won't sell them to some unsuspecting vette owner. :eater:

Absolutely new tread on the ZP's when replaced Last Friday, no regrets getting rid of those Death Traps... they were like driving on teflon hockey pucks :omg:

DANGER ! PLease do not ASSume that just becasue a tire has tread depth it still has GRIP.

Old rubber oxidizes and hardens, once it is heat cycled (driven). The more heat cycles, the quicker it hardens. RunFlat Tires may have 75% tread, but 25% traction!

DITCH THEM, BEFORE THEY DITCH YOU

PS: New Tires are generally better than old. Even the tires rated Lower by Car and Driver and TireRack for PERFORMANCE, [like Nitto, and BFG,] are BETTER THAN OLD, HARD HOCKEY-PUCK RUNFLATS. ANYTHING new is better than those ! But especially Kumho and PS2.

Just remember that the while the Kumho XS is an amazing tire designed for the track in dry conditions, it may not be your best choice if you occasionally get caught in the rain or drive in colder conditions. The PS2 is more of an "all purpose" tire, as is the Nitto and BFG KDW, with the latter two starting life with 10/32's of tread depth vs. 8/32's for the XS and PS2 (Pilot Cups start with only 6/32's!). Pick the tire that is best for your driving style and be sure to support your site sponsors. :D

I'm finally ready for new PS2's on my 02 RT10. What is the latest/best price on them? I know there was a price increase last year? thanks, Kevin. (p.s.- probably going stateside to a Tire Rack dealer) to buy/get installed in Michigan.

Dont be confused about several Kumho variants.... 3 of them are 'designed for the track' but the XS is a great street tire, drives decenty in the wet, unlike 2 of the "track" Kumhos or the Micheilin Sport Cups. But if you have to drive in the wet, PS-2 is a phenomianal wet tire. I have had PS2 at 130+ on a wet wet, cold, March track date..... and Doris has too, spectators take photos of her PS2 Rooster tails!
