I was on pins and needles all day waiting for the shipper to call me with a delivery time. I purchased the car sight unseen but a great VCA member from Michigan, Hemihead, aka Jerry, took time out of his day last weekend and went to check it out. He called and said the car was just as described. Spotless and looked brand new. My car was traveling with a Ferrari, a Yanko Camaro worth about 150,000 G's and another SRT 10 white with blue stripes headed for KY. When the truck arrived about 4:00 o'clock I got in the trailer and got pics along with pics coming off the truck. Do you remember how you felt when you finally got yours? :D What a feeling. :2tu: The car I bought is truly spotless. 15,000 miles, A/C and chrome 3 spoke wheels. I got in the car and drove it about half a block to my garage since we couldn't get to my house since I'm in a cul-de-sac. No sooner had I gotten in the driveway I was an instant celebrity. Neighbors came out of the woodwork. Smiles everywhere and the compliments kept on coming. No one believes it's a 94. I will post pics as soon as I become a member. You Gen 1 owners know what I'm talking about. What a feeling!
First thing tomorrow it's a trip to the DMV for my plates and then I'm going to take it for a ride. It's supposed to be nice this weekend so we may go over the mountain to Harrisonburg. Any other NOVA guys planning anything please let me know before the weather is such that the cars will be stored till Spring.
All I can say is "WOW"! My dream is now a reality. :headbang:
I did just order a front plate holder from Jon B. Read a good excuse in the forums and will use it if necessary. "Gee officer...I just washed it and forgot to put the front plate back on" as I pull it out of the trunk. :dunno:
I do have the original window sticker if anyone would like copies for reproducing one for themselves. PM me if you need one.

Congratulations! I got my 94 RT/10 8 years ago and just took it out to track for the first time last Sunday. Don't wait as long as I did. The car is a blast.

Make sure the head gaskets have been changed if you did not before you bought the car. The original head gaskets were the only weak point of this model. Check the date code on the tires. Cold tires and tires over 5 years old but with lots of tread will get you into trouble in this car faster than anything. The clunk in the driveline when you shift when you accelerate easily is normal. Don't worry about it. The top is not real weathertight so use care about driving it when it looks like rain or washing it. I can give you some tips on weather stripping.

PM me if you have any questions as you get familiar with the car.

Enjoy!

Congratulations!
Get the Wizards phone number and keep it in the glove box.

Then go buy a polaroid camera for your Viper. Comes in handy.;)

I can tell you first hand that Gregs car is a beauty. Good thing he got to it before I did :D

Greg's first plan was new tires and he'll be ready to rock.
Have fun and be safe buddy!

Way cool, congrats on your new purchase!:2tu:

I'm with the Wizard....red is THE only color......I'm clearly biased.:headbang:

And, yes, I remember the feeling when I pulled into the driveway after work and it was sitting there....was delivered an hour before I got home, wife took delivery (wife also bought it for me for my birthday).

.....I did just order a front plate holder from Jon B. Read a good excuse in the forums and will use it if necessary. "Gee officer...I just washed it and forgot to put the front plate back on" as I pull it out of the trunk.
Congrats.

The COPS are going to notice you the first few weeks, too, just like the neighbors. Let their FIRST IMPRESSION be with the plate-on. Get a couple dead bugs on it, and just leave them there. So when you pull it out of the trunk, the squished bugs are PROOF that you use it !

Enjoy the car, and learn these things:

- HOW TO CLOSE YOUR HOOD CORRECTLY
- HOW TO BURP AIR FROM THE MOTOR, and find the TWO coolant bottles.
-THAT YOUR DIPSTICK -LOW- MARK is TWO Qts.
- DITCH OLD TIRES, REGARDLESS OF TREAD, BEFORE THEY DITCH YOU
- OLD WIRES AND PLUGS COST HP
- INSPECT GASKETS TO SEE IF THEY ARE NEW / OLD. Originals WILL fail.
- STOCK? SMOOTHE TUBES AND FILTERS ADD 15HP AND LOOK ****! 1st MOD!

Congrats...the feeling does NOT wear off!

ps: Your VCA Sponsors / Vendors bring you this site....PLEASE SUPPORT US, Thanks

Congratulations! I'm glad you found a great car. I just heard back from Rauf, he says the tranny on his is smooth as glass after the rebuild. We'll have to go for a drive before it gets too cold!

Congratulations...I just had mine delivered last month and can clearly recall that excitement, anxiety and the pangs of withdrawl the first time I had to put it away for the night. Same experience - I purchased unseen (from Premier Sports Cars in Springfield MO.) and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived.
The attention is fun but it's all about the driving experience and that car will not dissapoint!!:1up:

No, that giidy childish feeling will never go away. Everytime you open the garage door and pull off the cover, the heart starts pounding lust like the day you first got it.

Enjoy it and watch the launches at this time of year!! They can get pretty :drive: very quick!!:omg:

Don't forget to leave some rubber on the road before you swap out the old shoes.

Got my red 94 rt/10 with 5599 brockered thur dealer in Tampa. Remember how exciting it was til this day. Drove it around the block and put the 5600th mile on it. Drove it from Tampa out to Montana twice. What a car. This occured in 97 and met JonB at Sebring in Mar 98 and learned about adjusting the throttles and burping and .... All the things he said above you should do or at least keep an eye on em. Congrats and know you'll enjoy.

Got my temp paper plates yesterday and went for my first drive that afternoon. Car is awesome. At low speed in first car is a little jerky and I have to play with the gas and the clutch to keep her smooth. Have heard this is normal. Hopefully I'm hearing correct info. Seems to me like the jerking would eventually take its' toll on the u-joints. Other than the occasionally **** the car is fantastic!
Thanks from all that have commented. I have the ultimate plates on order and was really surprised it was available. they read: V10 PWRD. Will be gone most of today getting the feel of it. Never got out of 5th gear or above 70 mph. 6th gear must be for overdrive over 90.
Hope to get together with Kcobean and some others soon.
AWESOME CAR!

Viperman, similar experience, got my 98 RT with 5,300 miles shipped up from broker in N. Carolina..but car spent its entire life with original owner in Boca.

I still get that same feeling each time I get in it and turn the key.
