Hello;

Reliable called my Dealer in West Des Moines this morning, and it's finally going to arrive today if all goes well!

Also, I don't know which Chicago area dealers are being delivered to, BUT, I can tell you that the Reliable driver said that they were almost ready to leave Southern Illinois shortly.

My salesman called me with this news about 10:00 this morning.

Any of you expecting your's today in that area, congratulations!

I'll be cleaning my "Viper Lair" and waiting by the phone very anxiously.

Jim

Congratulations!

A detailed description of your first driving impressions would be well appreciated. Actually, a once a week update of your driving impressions over a month long period would really help evaluate what one can expect from the car and help reveal any weaknesses once the fog of novelty has lifted somewhat. Hope it's not too much to ask.

Then a rough (only because I really think the SRT-10 should be compared to the RT/10 not the GTS) comparison to your GTS would be great.

Finally, pictures of course.

Congrats again. Enjoy.

Thanks!

The Beast has not arrived yet, but have no fears, a complete report will be forthcoming. I also can't wait to see how the "heat" issue was taken care of, and how the new pedal position feels (yep, size 12 feet). The new top will get a workout upon arrival as it is a balmy 18 degrees here in Waukee Iowa today.

Craig 201mph; I have not made the Ziebart appointment yet as I want to reserve judgement till after I get some seat- time in. You know, that Ziebart question I posted about the "road noise" insulation got a positive response here from non other than Mr. Woodhouse himself. It is not a bad idea to reduce "undesirable noises" in order to let the noises we love to hear be more evident. IF I have it applied, I will take Mr. Woodhouse's suggestion and look into spraying it on the "backside" of the wheel well moulding where it is non-visible. I am glad he chimed in here and supported that he has heard the benefits it can bring. As to the "aero" issue, the miles I get to log at 150mph will be few around here! I need to get her to a track. I'll keep you posted as to whether or not it is even worth doing.

HRE wheels should hopefully get here around mid-Feb. I'll post pic's as they will be the first set of 546's for run flats made for a Viper SRT. I hope I made the perfect choice, but regardless, they will be beautiful I am sure.

Well, back to cleaning the garage and waiting for THE phone call!

congrats - looking forward to your reports about the Viper. Being new to this forum I have enjoyed your posts very much. It seems that you have a strong enthusiasm for this car and that your posts are very well articulated and informative. So as an outsider I wanted you to know I am greatly looking forward to your detailed descriptions of this most awesome car. Thanks in advance.

Jim -

Congrats! Like you, I am waiting for The Call from Mr. Pemberton. I am hoping it is pretty quick so that I can beat the snowfall predicted for here tomorrow night. Oh, and make sure you plan on attending Viper Days in Pacific Junction, Iowa. We are planning to bring up a full contingency from Kansas City and it is a GREAT track!

The first SRT arrived in Kansas City yesterday and will be on display for a couple days before the owner takes delivery (it belongs to our recent president). I am probably going to go by there just to take a peek!

Tom, you might want to refer to Jim Walker's prediction of when/where the first SRT-10 would be totaled, and wait until NEXT week to pick up your car.

Dave, thanks for the reminder!! I did forget about Jim's prediction of January 18th. Trying to get an enclosed trailer because the salt is still really heavy on the streets.
George- The yellow RT/10 in my garage is Bill Sampognaro's. The picture was taken just before he came over to pick it up after I detailed his car as a return favor for him epoxing my garage floor.
