I will be the first to admit that I am not the "viper expert". I enjoy and drive the cars. I have owned a new 1994 RT/10, a new 1997 GTS, a new 2001 GTS, and yesterday evening I picked up my 2003 SRT. The RT was a disaster and Dodge bought it back as a lemon....in 18 months of owership, it spent 12 months in the service bay...engine problems, oil leaks, transmission failure, and to top it off I had my top sucked off by a semi-truck (faulty header attachments for the top), watched it go about fifty feet in the air and get run over by another semi! My '97 got driven 55,000 miles, had the mods including exhaust, tubes, flywheel, etc, but had a few engine issues(rebuilt....courtesy of Dodge) but overall was a good car. My creampuff 2001 had not a problem and had 17,000 miles in 18 months. I had a great time driving it from Arizona to Nashville to Iowa and back. The quality improvement of each year was noticible.
I had alot of concerns in trading in my 2001 but after having a GTS for six years I was in the mood for something different and new. I had some significant buyers' remorse last night and felt like it was the end of an era. However, the SRT has brought grins to me all day. It drives and handles better. The fit and finish is fantastic. The lights light up the desert like day. I put 250 miles on it bringing home from Phoenix to Havasu. I even got a "thumbs up" from a guy in one of those prancing horse cars :D I kind of wish the rear end appeared different...maybe an upgraded GTS one to go with the angles of the car. Overall, I like the car. It is a true Viper. My only other complaint to Dodge is where is the SRT street coupe and put mine on order!

Update: I have now had the car for less than 72 hours and hit the 475 mile mark. No question, I am not going back to a GTS and look forward to the street SRT coupe. The car handles and performs so much better than previous cars. Thank you Dodge.
