We have been invited by Chrysler Germany to attend a drivers school at the famous Nürburgring.

We had a blast! 1.5 days on the track. I did almost 300 miles on the race track in my stock RT/10 (except exhaust) and I learned (I knew that already but the real experience when the brakes are "gone" is different!) that the stock brakes are not good for a long time of racing, but I had a LOT OF FUN as we all had.

For example: going over 100 mph straight to a tight corner and braking hard, very hard 50-70 yard before the turn to come around isnt easy if you are not a race driver, but we learned to find our and the cars limit after the 1.5 days of training!
Over 1200 miles in 4 days and the weather was perfect. ICE COLD and SUNNY. :drive:

Enjoy the pictures!

Unfortunately, Aco was not there. But, I wore the SoCal T-shirt and other Viper-T-shirts and got the attention of a "visitor" from the US ...in the end he told me he is a friend of Paolo C. (TT Viper).

Its a small (Viper) world!

That would have been some nice days.
Didn't you drove on the Nordschleife? I was there the 7th october. The track closed 9 times, because of the many accidents. The Viper ('94 RT/10) didn't felt very confidence on the bumpy track. Time to put some new custom made shocks on it.

>>> Didn't you drove on the Nordschleife?<<<

This was a drivers training on a closed GP-race track (just us and all the security! Flag people, ambulance [just in case], ...) and not a suicide mission - "Freies Fahren" - you know what I mean!

The red "X" must have to do with the "ü" in the name of Nürburgring.
For most people it works - character set issue installed on your pc?

Meanwhile, I learned that the FireFox browser works and IE does not (pictures).

BTW, one of our instructors is a Viper race driver, Patrik Simon, he drove the Zakspeed-Viper during the 24h Race at the Nürburgring in 2007. Winner in class SP8.

>>>If you go again please let us know.<<<

I would LOVE to see you all at the race track there! Especially since it is not possible to do it without the money/help from Chrysler/Dodge. Renting the track for 2 days costs a lot of money (6 digits and up). The ZAKSPEED team costs a lot of money.

However, when we - from the Viperclub Deutschland - Startseite - have been invited in the beginning of 2007 I asked immediately whether we can bring the Swiss Viper friends in the boat and the answer was back than: "no" - it is money from Chrysler Germany and it is for the German Viper owners.

Later I had to learn (too late) that other Viper owners are invited as well since the number of German viper owner attending was low - the basic fee was 1300 Euro. Plus 2 nights in the hotel plus food and plus >100:D gallons of fuel!

================================================
The problem with the IE should be fixed now! Pictures should show up.

Viperclub Deutschland - Fotogalerie - 2007 Nuerburgring
This LINK should work!

Just in case there is another drivers training like this...language problem? I dont know whether the Zakspeed people/instructors do speak English and we all had radios in our cars to follow (or not :D) the instructions - I couldnt hear anything above 50 mph in the open roadster...I would have told you Brits and the Swiss immediately "if..."!:dunno:
