Need Help w/ Part #\'s

Hey guys...

I have a 93 and I'm getting ready to replace the Head Gaskets, Thermostat, etc.

Does anyone have the Part #'s for the upgraded (not the old "paper" style) OEM Head Gaskets that will work on a Gen I? I also need Part #'s for any other gaskets that will need to be replaced... I am planning on removing the heads and sending them to Extrude Hone so I'm pretty sure there will be several gaskets that need to be replaced... ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! :2tu:

I already have the gaskets for the thermostat

I know the gasket set includes all the gaskets you'll need so dont worry about any additional gaskets, but I dont have the part #. Any Dodge dealership should be able to look it up without any problems. List price is somewhere around $900, but I'm sure with your connections, you can get a much better deal :headbang:

Chad... did you leave before the awards were given out at NOPI?

I just got off the phone with them... they lost/misplaced our score sheets... the only one they can find (or had during the awards ceremony) was the guy w/ the Blue GTS that was parked in the other section on Saturday. He said they would try to find our scores and make the adjustments for the awards.

I gave the guy at NOPI your name, etc. So you should have a trophy... visit there website if you want them to mail it to you or call Bobby Evans at 1-800-277-6674 ext. 207 and tell him who you are and he can help.

Melia, yeah me and my friend left right after we talked to you and your bf after the bikini contest. Thanks so much for the info, when I saw the website, I figured they only gave out 1 trophy since the Viper class was so small. I just talked to Bobby and he told me what I'm sure he has already told you. They are looking for our scores and he's going out of town tomorrow, but said to call him Monday and he hopes to have it all cleared up by then. I'll shoot you a PM if I talk to him before you do Monday.

Try this part #...4626640AE. It should be the right one, but double check it just to be sure before you order anything. I can get the kit for $633.60 if you have any problems getting it. Just let me know if I can help ya in anyway.

Re: Need Help w/ Part #\'s

it just rolled over 24,000

its not neccessary that I replace them right now - honestly, I haven't had any problems yet, but I want to send my heads off to Extrude Hone so I guess in order to gain more HP I've got to suffer the consequences.

Chuck,
My dad actually owns a Dodge dealership in Southwest GA but we are not a "Viper" shop and honestly my Viper is the first one many of the mechanics here have ever worked on... I am more interested in exactly which gaskets are included in the Gasket Package and if the OEM gaskets are the way to go or if there is an aftermarket company who makes better ones. When I looked the part # up last night it said 1992 - 1996 (are these the upgraded gaskets? or the same original "paper" type)
I just figured some of you guys have worked on them a little more and might have some good advice on what to use and what not use and the parts # saves me a lot of research time :2tu:

Re: Need Help w/ Part #\'s

I spoke to Chuck yesterday about the head gaskets. Mine were replaced under warranty, but as my luck would have it, they were replaced before the new multi-layered steel gaskets came out, so even though they were replaced, all I did was get new paper style gaskets. I asked Chuck about the aftrermarket route as well and he said he knew a guy from Camitta (sp?)gaskets had gotten a set of Gen 1 head gaskets to make an aftermarket set, but wasnt sure if he ever did or not. Chuck told me the demand for them may have never been high enough to warrant the design. I did a search online for Camitta but couldnt come up with anything. If anyone has any info on Camitta and if they did ever produce any Gen 1 head gasket sets, can you please post? TIA...
