I just bought a set of wires and protect-a-boots from Summit Racing. The MSD wires for the Viper are Summit Part # MSD-32259 ($72.95) (MSD-32269 for a GTS), the DEI protect-a-boots are DEI-010501 (2-pack, $19.69) and DEI-010502 (8-pack, $49.69). I got great service -- regular free FedEx ground shipping and the order showed up in 3 days. Or you can buy Mopar Performance wires or stock Mopar wires from JonB at the Parts Rack. Everyone recommends sticking with the stock Champion plugs, unless your engine is modified.

If you are interested in some great wires, I just got a deal with Magnecor. They are a little more in price but well worth it.

George,

I am not sure what you are looking for but I have my original wires from my (ex) - 99 ACR and a set of plugs that have been barely used. This all went when I had the car upgraded to a Venom 600.

The wires and plugs have about 2000 miles on them at most.

Make me an decent offer and include $15 for shipping and and they are yours....

If you would like for me to take the ones that are on the car today before the insurance man takes it away on Tuesday let me know....these are the high dollar plugs and wires...just kidding....I guess those go with the settlement.

PartsRack sells TEN of those same SnakeSox heat protector boots for $59 when you buy wires. Exact same product that Summit has for $49.69 + $19.69 = 10.

Geroge, how does one get a "SUPER CHEAP" **SWEET** deal when the OEM price is just $89 - $99 to begin with ?! I would offer you some take-off used wires for $40 with no warranty beyond an exchange. But is that sweet? Or risky? In any case:

I have blue 8.5mm HiTemps for both G-I and G-2, as well as extra longs with boots and new stand-off taller looms, or OEM greys. All at very competitive prices, and the CORRECT wires for your year. How about giving PartsRack a shot? Thanks.

JonB,
You forgot to mention the Snake booties when I ordered the high temp wires. Do you think they are that necessary with the 8.5's?
Overkill?

Also,
is there an anti-seize like material recommended for plug changes? Would like to avoid cross threading at all costs.
Thanks.

PEP BOYS has the plugs for .99 each! and try summit racing or Jegs for the wires.

Why replace the stock wires if they aren't broken?? Mine have 13000 miles with no ill effects and Im pushing 1000 ft/lbs of torque to the rear wheels.

I have always used a small dab of Permatex Anti-Seize #133A when changing plugs on a car with aluminum heads. "Eliminates galling and cold welding of threaded fasteners, especially on aluminum and stainless steel. Suitable for service from -65 to 2000 F intermittent." Does anyone use this or anything else when changing plugs?

Anti-seize compound can be purchased almost anywhere. When applying it to the threads, use only a LIBERAL amount. Be careful not to allow any compound to extend into the porcelain or gap. The best way to initially install spark plugs is to screw them in with a short piece of hose or fuel line.
Never use a plug wrench to start the installation of a spark plug and don't forget to use a small amount of dielectric grease on the boot end of the plugs.

Regards,
Doug
