I am wondering how much the front splitter is important if I am using a large adjustable wing on the rear.

No point it helps, but my question is how much it helps to keeping my Viper stable ?

Any recommendations for a good front splitter ?

I am planning to add a rear wing to get a better grip below 150mph.
At present my viper tends to swing even in 4th gear due to the excessive supercharging :)

Click on my avatar to see the Autoform splitter (and Hennessee wing). You are not going to notice much difference at normal speeds but when you get above 120 the wing and splitter combo will plant you down on the road. I ran the Silver State Classic with this car at speeds up to 165 (mostly 140 or above) in 35 mph winds and the car was extremely stable. In fact I didn't even notice the wind. The splitter is a rock magnet - just had mine repainted.

I have the Autoform front/splitter combo and the Northwind Engineering wing. They keep you really planted to the track. As you can see in this video, the car is really squatting coming down the straightaway. Probably a little too much downforce but the wing is adjustable so I can lessen the downforce, which I've since done.

Keep in mind that the more down force you have, the more HP you will need to achieve higher speeds.
185mph here and no wing or splitter.

In case you didn't think of it, you might want to change your springs too, they could break with the higher downforce. That could be a bummer at 150!

Bat,
I've been away from my computer. To answer your question, the leading edge of the splitter is 3 3/4" off the ground and my car is not lowered.

Venom 1000TT,

Nice video. On the video it looks like you have too much down force on the rear and the front wants to take off. Actually your splitter instead of creating down force it creates some lift. Am I right ? From the video it is difficult to guess.

Thanks Bob. I've got Eibach Pro springs so I don't think its gonna work for me on a daily basis.

I'd say the rear wing was not adjusted properly and caused too much downforce, kind of like dragging a parachute, so the front splitter couldn't over-compensate. The front splitter does fine when the rear is set up correctly.
