As the title says, I need Viper tech recomendation in SE Pa. Has anybody used Weather Dodge in Lima Pa. I think their Viper tech name is Rich Bryan, has anybody used him? I would love to hear who you all used and how your experience was in you are anywhere near me in SE Pa. I am also very close to Delaware or South Jersey.

I would also like to thank Chuck Tator for spending the time with me on the phone to help me troubleshoot as far as he could. I only wish Tator Dodge was closer to me.

If it was a major issue I would spend the money to have it trailered the 4 hours to Tators but hopefully it is just a bad alarm switch and getting my key fobs synched to the car. I am hoping if I go and sit with the car it won't be a bad experience. I guess I am just paranoid after hearing about all the horrible experiences Corvette guys have at the chevy dealers.

[Edit] I just realized I do not have an alarm issue. I opened the hatch and played around with the switch and now the alarm sets fine. One of the reasons I thought there may be an alarm issue is I was getting 3 honks when I armed it which I no longer do but the other thing is the little yellow lights on the doors stay lit when the car is unlocked. Does everybodies led's stay on or do they eventually time out when unlocked?

So what is the issue? Car won't start?

I'm pretty sure my little lights stay on 24/7. I'd go look but car is not at my location.

When I set the alarm I do not see the light on the dash blinking and the little LED lights on my doors do not shut off after 35 seconds like the owners manual says they should.

I would appreciate if you check yours when you can.

At first I was getting 3 beeps when setting the alarm but I readjusted the rear hatch switch and it fixed that issue.

If it was anything major it would be on a trailer on its way to Tator but I cannot justify 4+ hours each way for nickle and dime stuff. I would like to think any Viper tech could diagnose this. Worst case scenerio I would have the tech touch base with Chuck and I would just have to send Chuck a real nice Christmas present for all his help.

Does the car start? Do the doors lock? Does the alarm not set?

Honestly if it is just the little lights not coming on/going off I would never notice this.

Yes, the car starts, the doors lock and unlock. I am assuming the alarm is not going on since I get no flashing light on dash but I could be wrong. I did not try to open the door and see if it goes off or not. I am assuming the leds are staying on to tell me there is an issue someplace. There does not seem to be to many things that can go wrong. There are switches and an Entry Module under the dash. I guess I need to put it on a BDR to find out which it is.

Which year car? The little yellow lights on the door go off when the door is locked by arming the alarm. Did you try manually pressing the switches to lock?

Yes, they go off when locked. They are supposed to time out in 35 seconds after the car sits when the door is unlocked according to the owners manual. So far I have only tried it with the fob.

*cough* *cough* regional PA forum *cough* *cough*....
Sorry, I thought it would get more attention here since I was asking for technical question as well as looking for a tech. I appreciate you not moving it.

Just giving you a hard time Frank.

One thing you can do to see if the alarm is really activating is to open the hood...it's tied into the alarm system too (who here hasn't popped the hood with the alarm set, be honest! :D )

Thanks. :2tu:

Me, I haven't opened the hood with the alarm set, or if I did I didn't know it. I will give that a try though and see if it really is setting. I am guessing it is not since it thinks something is not right which is why the led's are staying lit.

I wonder how many other people have a similar issue and do not know it. I would never have known if I did not read GTS Bruce's post in the battery thread about his led's staying lit. I never paid much attention to the led's or the light on the dash and just assumed the alarm was arming.

I still need to check the inside lock switches to make sure they are not sticking like my hatch switch was. Hoping that is all it is.
