Hello;

Yep, I'm gonna order a set of these beauties!

My favorites for style are:

1. HRE 545 5-spoke, Polished finish, Custom "Fangs" Etched Center Cap.

2. HRE #546 6-Spoke, Polished finish, with Fangs custom etched center cap.

3. OR #547 Split 5-spoke, polished, Fangs custom etched center cap?

The 5 spoke #545 is a clean design that shows alot of the brakes, which is cool. The #546 is very "Track" race-ready look that obscures a bit of the openness. The #547 Split-5 Spoke is busier looking, pretty open, but will require alot more detail work when cleaning.

They are all beautiful, and so far my favorites are the #545 5-Spoke, OR the #546 which is more aggressive and looks like it was made for a track car.

You can see a Silver SRT on the HRE website by clicking on the "SHOWROOM" option, then pick the brand of car, them choose the model- viper 2003. You then choose the series of wheel, which for me is #540 Series. The Silver SRT appears, and all you do is roll your pointer over a row of 540 Series wheels, and the one you are on is instantly put on the Viper! Very, Very, cool!

I would love to hear your opinions on what you think looks best on the Silver SRT! I will be the first customer to order for an SRT (unless you beat me to it) and they are tooled-up and ready to make 19" wheels for the SRT run-flats with tire pressure sensors! HRE will even make a CUSTOM "Etched Center Cap" using the NEW "Fangs" logo if they can get some good art to scan! Very COOL indeed.

What do you think looks best from HRE for the Silver SRT?

Thanks,

Jim

Wouldn't mind buying your stock rims for cheap.

Go for the 546's. They'd look great on the car.......though I might be biased

I do think the R's make a nice aesthetic improvement from the standard 540 series. Whatever your choice, you won't go wrong. I currently have 3 vehicles with HRE's (2 with 546's, one with 545's).

Happy motoring,

Ben

Happy New Year!

Hey folks, just want to say what a great club we have here. So many people helping each other out with pic's, info, opinions... I really appreciate the feedback!

Jamie and Ben; THANKS FOR THOSE PICS OF YOUR VIPER HRE's! Those photo's are invaluable. This is a tough choice.

I would like to ask if any of you could post a picture of a Viper with the HRE #545? It is a little bit more "open" with 5-spokes, and it might be a real contender.

What do you think of the "brushed" finish with "polished" Rims? I have a feeling that the "Brushed" could be very tasteful on the Silver SRT considering that we have "brushed/Satin" inner door handles, etc in the SRT (I believe this is correct?). If any of you have the "brushed" finish on HRE 545, 546, or 547, I would REALLY appreciate seeing a photo.

Lastly; several of you suggested the #540 "R" series. I agree! BUT; after talking to Jon B. and John Wallace at HRE, the "R" series IS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR RUN FLAT SRT SIZES! I don't know when they are going to be available either. This is just what I understood from the conversations. Please FORGIVE me if I am incorrect, as I am not into spreading false info.

Have any of you experienced BROKEN HRE wheels? Someone brought it to my attention that some track events are not keen on Vipers with HRE's! Can anybody comment on that, as I would sure like to join you at a Viper event in the near future. PLEASE do let me know if you have experienced problems!

Well, I will be looking forward anxiously to any more comments and pictures you may have.

Thank you!

Jim

I don't have any pix of 545's on a Viper, but here is a pic of the 545's on my Turbo

In regards to polished vs satin, go for the high polished. They really look much nicer IMO; however, remember, YOU are the only one that has to be happy with your purchase. In regards to durability, I have numerous track events on the 546's in 18/19 on my NSX and have had no durability issues.

Best wishes in 2003!

Thanks;

I am VERY torn between the HRE #546 and #547! I thought this would be easier; wow, it's tough when there isn't a "real" SRT that has either one to view.

I would gladly pay one of you photoshoppers a reasonable fee if you can get a side view of a Silver SRT (hi-res) and pop those wheels (546& 547) on! I bet MANY others here would benefit from seeing the choices as well.

Somehow, the HRE #546 seem the best on the SRT. With the SRT's "LESS AGGRESSIVE" styling, perhaps the #546 6-spoke would give the SRT a little more EDGE? The HRE #547 looks PERFECT on the Blue GTS of Jamies (I believe it's Jamies) because of THE STRIPES, and the split-spoke #547 REALLY picks up on the theme tremendously. God those HRE #547 are BEAUTIFUL on that GTS. The #547 looked even MORE perfect on a picture of a Black GTS with Silver Stripes. You just KNOW it can't possibly be better when you can see a pic and go "yeah, thats it!"

Please do keep those opinions and advice coming with more PIC'S!

Have any of you purchased HRE's "ETCHED CENTER CAPS"? They look beautiful. Please tell me about them if you would!

Thanks

Jim

Hello again;

Well, I just ordered the HRE #546 six-spokes in High-polish with "Etched HRE Center Caps" from Jon B! Jon, PLEASE check your e-mail!

Thanks to you folks and some great pics, I felt that the SRT needed a little more "aggressive" looking wheel, which I agree, is the 546.

I think that the #547 "split 5-spoke" is awesome on the striped GTS. I bet they look incredible when they are rolling. The #545 just seemed a little too close to the factory wheels (I know the factory wheels a 5-spoke OPEN style) and they didn't make as much of a change as I wanted in the end.

They are all beautiful, and all of the wheel manufacturers have great looking products that look great on your Vipers. I can't thank you enough for replying and posting those pictures; it REALLY helped my decision and it was NOT EASY!

I think new wheels will be the most fun mod for the money of anything I have done. I am having new tires mounted and balanced at HRE, and I am going to keep my factory wheels/tires for spares and to have as original equipment for when I trade-in someday.

Thanks!

Jim

Jim.....I've seen the new 547-R on display at RSI in Houston and they look great. I plan on putting those on my Red SRT-10 and I will wait until they are available. I was also told the 19x13's will not be available for maybe another month or so, but it might be that long before the car arrives. Good luck on your decision.

HRE has made it official: Jim Wallace (Cornsnake) is their 1st official order for SRT/10 Zero-Pressure technology wheels for Viper.

HRE is able to build the R-series Viper wheel in 19F 20R as Mike stated, as well as 20F 20R, and do so NOW. Tires are conventional, and not Zero Pressure (run flat)

Commercial:
As HRE's #1 Viper Wheel Distributor, PartsRack was glad to offer Jim a deep discount, and we welcome your inquiries.
