Just picked up my first Viper last week.

2002 GTS, Red, 4,800 miles, bone stock.

I'm in North Texas and was looking for the closest Viper tech, any suggestions?

Thanks

Lewisville would be the closest to me so I will check them out, thanks.

I haven't shot any pics yet. I had it delivered from Colorado and it arrived Sunday. I made a few fun filled laps around town and then put it up. With my 60 hour weeks and two young girls I have little time but I'm going to play a little this weekend.

Congrats on the low mileage find! That is great!

Welcome to the Viper Nation as well! :yay:

Thanks, I was looking some resto mods as well as pro touring cars when a red/white GTS caught my eye. From then on the more I looked at them the more I liked them.

I am more than happy with my choice. The Viper is like no other car I've been in, it's more than fun to drive.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The resto mods and pro touring cars are great...but holy frick its hard to beat the fun of the Viper! :)

And its not like the Viper doesnt have a sweet body. And in the end you are likely cheaper!

Welcome aboard JusinB....where in North Texas are you?

Take it easy while you learn to drive the new ride, etc, etc....and in case you didn't know, you can change the color of your Venom tag to match the color of your car fwiw.

I'm in Wichita Falls, TX.

I did quite a bit of reading on this board prior to my purchase. Thankfully I caught the threads about new owners not taking time to learn these cars and what they are capable of. I have a true respect for it's power at this point and will probably never see it's full potential but that's OK with me.

Big open parking lot with no poles could be your friend. Go burn those old tires off. Heck these things love to do dough nuts:aargh: but look out for this guy:cop: But seriously super glad you have your dream car. Now get some new rubber.

+1 - even if there is plenty of tread! Old tires and massive HP do NOT mix. If you need to see the difference, find someone in the area that has newer tires and press your thumb nail into yours and theirs.... You'll see a HUGE difference and that difference could be what keeps you 'somewhat' under control. Start looking for a HPDE course and take the time to go spend the weekend finding out where the limits are for you and your car. The Viper is an awesome vehicle, but it WILL take your breath away in a split second if you get heavy with the right foot at the wrong time. The course helps you see when that is going to happen.

Try to spend a LITTLE time with the wife and kids and not just in the garage grinning!:D

Oh we yellow guys have no issue with the COLOR red. Not at all. Its a color of the rainbow. The color of stoplights (OK, I hate red in that case), and the color of ketchup.

Red is OK.

We yellow guys know red cars are slower than yellow Vipers. Thats all! :rolaugh::D
