Note that the Gen V fifth gear is .77 while the 2010 fifth gear is .80. So if a person has a stock diff ratio of 3.07, the 2010 fifth gear will provide better performance. I assume that is why you are also offering the 3.55 gear set change out.

I think the 2013 Viper is also 3.55 stock, so it does make sense.

I think the 2013 Viper is also 3.55 stock, so it does make sense.


The 2013' Viper's rear gear ratio is 3.55 and works perfectly with it's new close ratio Tremec gear box. 1st through 3rd gears are now taller than Viper's 2010 gear box.. With the 3.55 diff ratio 1st gear is still good to 60 mph and should out pull the Gen 4 Viper in 5th & 6th gear (quicker reving due to lower rear ratio and maximizing the new V10's power band)..:2tu: This new combination will soon be the standard we're all going to be running eventually IMO..

Note that it is not a direct swap for the T-56 found in the 2003 - 2006 Vipers. According to SRT engineers you will also need the following (Mopar part numbers also provided):

05037965AB - 2010 flywheel w/ring gear

05037963AC - 2010 dual-disc clutch kit w/pressure plate

06508880AA - 2010 clutch bolts (6)

05037990AA - 2010 drive shaft

5037263AB - 2010 rear transmission bracket*

53009181AB - 2010 pilot bearing*

* Existing 2003 - 2006 bracket can be used but would need the hole slotted rearward by 10mm. Likewise, the existing pilot bearing can be used but is inexpensive enough to simply install a new one as long as you are in there.

The new flywheel will need to have the holes for the crankshaft bolts drilled out to fit the 7/16” flywheel bolts used on the 2003 – 2006 cars. SRT recommends using only Mopar ATF+4 transmission fluid (Mopar Part # 05013457AA) in the TR6060. Correct fill volume is 3210ml (this is well below the ‘fill plug’ on the side of the case).

Well, we have bought these exact parts numbers and so far the very first step is an impasse. The 2004 flywheel bolts are too long to attach the 2010 flywheel to the crank. I have emailed and called VPA, talked to Chris twice, but no one has "gotten back to me".

Anyone who's done this, please speak up that it actually works and advise on any hardware or tricks that may have been left out of the above description. I'm happy to order some ARP flywheel bolts of the right dimensions. I just don't like surprises or people not getting back to me.

Call me directly and I'll solve your issues - Toddy @ (916)505-9026.. I stock all the right components, specs and know the do's and don'ts on this set-up. After all I built the prototype flywheels for the G5 Viper's for Dick Winkles.

I thought it a bit bizarre when VPA posted on my thread originally with their part numbers and clutch kits, when I was pitching my company's set-ups which are for a performance upgrade.??

Give Toddy a call, you won't be disappointed. He built my TR6060 with internal upgrades and lower 5th and 6th gear sets. He knows these things inside and out. Probably my favorite upgrade.

You'll be very happy with the new close ratio box once you get it installed.

I used ARP flywheel bolts with my BBG flywheel and TR6060 swap into my Gen 3. Part number ARP-200-2802

12-Point, 7/16 in. x 1.0 in

You'll need to buy 2 packs, since each pack has 6 bolts and we require 8 bolts. Use blue Loc-Tite when installing them.

Good info Nine Ball,

But the 1" bolt doesn't sink deep enough into the crank shaft snout, so I have bolts made for our BBG clutch kits to my specification that work much better..

I have in stock if needed FYI.
