Well, I combined all of the input from you guys on the board, and I applied it to the track on Saturday.
New results: 12.29 @ 119.8 mph

What do you think of that ?? I'm pretty happy, and I'll go for it again next April when the track opens in the Spring.

Thanks Guys !!!

That is an awesome time for a stock Viper on only what your second time to the track with it. From what I remember, our cars are only a few VIN numbers apart too. I need to get my butt to a good track so I can see what this baby will really do. Unfortunately, guys who run at the track I go to and who also go to other tracks say they run about 4 tenths slower on the track I use.

What was your 60' time?

I still have to try and improve my 60' time. On that pass it was a 1.98, and my best 60' was a 1.92 when I ran a 12.37 et.

I was able to get 15 runs in Saturday for some decent practice. I only went under a 2 second 60' run twice.

I really tried slipping the clutch off the line which did reduce the spin off the line, but 2nd gear came really quick, and everytime I hit 2nd, the back end of the car would try to pass the front. When it hit 2nd gear I just kept the foot to the firewall and rode it out all the way down the 1320 feet.

My BEST run of the day wasn't that good on paper, but it "felt" fantastic !! It was 2 runs after my 12.29 pass. It hooked pretty good ( 1.92 60' ), and I was working the clutch with short snapping motions while shifting as fast as I could. When I was going from 3rd to 4th, I missed the shift !!! I still coasted through the traps at a 12.37 @ 112mph, even missing that gear.........Hmmm, wonder what it might have done had I hit 4th ?? Oh well, there's always next time out.

HEY CONGRATS> I was wondering how things went.

Your 60' time was almost 2 seconds on a 12.29.
If you can get that down to 1.5 you should get a 11.29

Dan,

What an awesome time! Congrats. That quick shifting is what got you that 119.8MPH. That MPH, along with a 1.7 60', will mean a DEEP 11 sec timeslip! It may be that your track simply isn't capable of giving enough traction to get a 1.7, but if you catch it on a good day, you'll be stunning the crowds with your STOCK mid-11 second car!

My Goal is to get a verbal warning from the track officials for doing a sub 12 second run in my car. That would be awesome !!
