My previous GTS had the old Borla cat back with no mufflers right before the exhaust tips. I had belanger headers, metal high flow cats and an 8lb Roe blower. I liked the sound. I now have belanger headers, NO CATS, 10lb Roe blower and the new Borla exhaust with the mufflers at the rear. Too quiet. Has anyone cut the mufflers out of their new Borla system and replaced them with straight pipes and if so how much of a difference did it make? :usa:

I have about the same setup as you but with only a 5 lb roe. I cannot imagine describing my sound as 'too quiet'. If you remove the mufflers, let me know how much louder it is.

Well I removed the two small mufflers next to the exhaust tips and there was no change to the idle or cruise sound. WOT is another issue, cracks very loud when you get on it. I still don't have the wicked idle and deceleration notes of my old system and it had the high flow cats. Wish I had the old Borla I guess. :smirk: :usa:

After more driving I have noticed another major impact to removing the rear mufflers from the new Borla system, NO DRONE at any rpm! Again, no difference at cruise or idle, louder at WOT, and no drone. If you have this system the rear mufflers are held in with clamps at both ends so you can try removing them and installing 17" of straight pipe in their place. :usa: :usa:

Does anyone have any information on the weight of the Borla catback versus the stock catback? Does it weigh more or less?
