I have started to experience a brassy sounding exhaust note (sounds like "BRAAAAP" !!!) at 3,000 rpm. It seems to have started when I had someone install the side splitters that I purchased. The side sill feels like it's back on very solidly and the splitter is tightly attached to the sill using the stock attachment screws. I do not have the little clamp that another member used to hold the rear edge of the splitter to the sill though.
I am gonna get someone to sit outside the car and listen to it to try and determine a source, but I am curous whether there might be another cause for an exhaust note that has suddenly changed in the 3,000 rpm range. Any thoughts ?
P.S. my car has high flow cats, bullet-style mufflers inside the sill with no rear muffler.
