Would you need a rear wing to equalize the downforce?

I remember GK saying the GTS makes about:
100lbs of Rear Downforce
25lbs of Front Lift.
I forget at what speed though. I'm thinking like 100 mph

If you add a splitter that gives you 125 lbs of Front downforce then you would be equally balanced with the rear (-25 + 125 = 100)
So, 100F & 100R would be 200lbs of total downforce.

I do not think that GTS-R-001's talk about rake creating downforce at the rear applies to a stock car but rather more so to a modified car with more underpanels and a functional rear diffuser.
Underneath the backend of the Gen2's rear bumper is a pretty big cavity that traps and turbulates some of the air exiting the rear.

And deposits unbelievable amounts of road grit, leaf bits and even very small rocks on the upper surface of the bumper, dammit.

GTS-R-001,

I like how the overall design is similar to the Autoform wrap-around one. Only Yours looks a lot better IMO since it follows the natural lines of the facia and dosn't try to add any cute flares.

Here is a pic of the autoform one for comparison:

Looks like a very nice piece. Looking forward to seeing some real pics on some cars.
Good job on making more products for our cars.

Hi Guys...that is a nice looking piece, back in 95 when I originally made that front splitter, I was trying to accomplish a couple of things with the shape of our splitter for early Viper Days racing.
When we started running wider tires on the front, we needed a piece that would aerodynamically cover up the tire which was sticking out past the front fascia...that is why both the splitter as well as the abs wheel well piece that I developed to mount the splitter, is wider and protrudes past the stock Fascia at the bottom as well as up towards the hood. Kind of like they did on the Comp Coupe years later. Most Viper race cars have wider Fascias and Hoods. The curvy flares acted like today's Canards. I did need to make the section nearest the wheel-well go up further than the recent one that was pictured...as we found we needed more support on the edge due to the down force we where creating. All of this was designed and built to be used for track events and have the ability to remove it after the track weekend. We did later build race car specific Fascias and splitters that were used on most of the early VRL race Vipers.
As for the part that is pictured... it does look good...I remember working with a race team many years ago to turn one of our splitters into a piece like the one pictured...but I believe that team was not based in the US.
Thanks for reading...I just feel the need sometimes to bring a little early Viper Club Racing History into these discussions. I'm not asking everyone to like all of the parts we make...maybe just understand where they came from.

Is there any way to make the backside protected in some way to prevent paint abrasion on the OE fascia?

It will have some nice high 1/8 foam mounted on the surface that touches your paint, same stuff we use under our wing mounts etc.

Another key feature is these will have a flat bottom, so they will function like a splitter and not just look like one, here is a pic of the bottom to show the flat surface

Thanks Steve, You are a true asset to the community I personally like a lot of your stuff, proved it by putting your entire LEmans package on my 1000Hp GTS!

Looks great! I'd buy your product in a heartbeat. I have one of your first Vipairs. As for dave6666 and lifeisgood, they should be banned here for their constant negativity and personal attacks on you.

Old tread but I want to know if any kind person could help me !

Did anybody purchased this front splitter ??
I think that front looks really good and would have fit my Trackday Viper very well but I have read so much negative about the seller so I dont know if I dare to buy from him !?
Can anyone give me some input to this issue please!
I have sent him email but I have not got any respond to that.
Also his homepage is closed !?
Maybe he does not make parts like this anymore?

Thanks
Jorgen
