If you had swapped your GenI hood for a genII hood you would have had the cooling you were looking for and you would have avoided yourself such an ugly one.
I just can't understand how someone can spend that much money without upgrading the wheels or putting a hood that has the NACA duct and side vents ...

I always liked this Viper, maybe partially because it is the most customized Gen 1. So my hat goes off for the owner.
Unbelievable motor, makes me wish I had one of those!

Its great that we have different tastes. Othervise we would be all driving blue Honda Civic's....

I'm not sure what to say. It kinda reminds me of adam96's car that he recently sold. I'm more about adding function instead of bling but if you like it who the f*ck cars what I think. :D

I like it, but my tastes are rarely in the majority. If I owned 2 or 3 different RT/10s, I could see doing something similar to one of them. Just realize, though, that the Viper body is an automotive all-time, all-Madden classic, and looks awesome no matter what car is parked next to it. I can't think of a single car I would go look at instead of a Viper if the two were parked next to each other, (not counting that I own one and look at it everyday) and all other parameters being equal. So you modified a work of art-you did the equivalent of putting an arm or a head on a Venus de Milo. Like I said though, I think there are enough stock appearing Vipers out there that modding a few is a good thing. I would certainly make a point to go check it out at a Viper meet, whereas I might not make a point to see another bone stock RT/10.

I just looked at your website. Holy Toledo, Batman. I didn't realize what all you had done. What tires are you running now that you have over 1000 hp at the crank? Quite a showcar you have there. I don't particularly get the hood, but I'm all for people spending piles of moola on their V-10 mistresses-a good thing, to be encouraged IMO.

Oh man 2 extra speakers...factory mid range with tweeters. LOL Your Viper should be in a World of Wheels competition. The hood reminds me of the cowl induction hoods used on the Chevelle. The cowl area was suppose to be an area of high pressure. In 1969 that never made sense to me.

My 2 cents...
First off, I respect all the work and $$$ that has gone into your project...
I would not have done the type of body/ paint and interior mods that you did...A little too "Smokey and the Bandit" looking for MY taste... But to each his own......
As far as the engine mods....WOW!!!
Best of luck to you and your ride...
Cheers,

Just what he said

I think the word you are all looking for is "Unique."

Like it or not, you can't deny that it's, um... well.. Unique!

Purists may say I have riced out my Viper. So be it. I don't hate this Viper, just most of the things that were done to it. The whole hood thing? Not good. The double wing? You only need one, and even that is up for debate. How do you polishe AND powder coat wheels? You mean part of the wheel is polished and the other part is coated? Stickers and decals all over the paint are a huge no, no for any Viper IMO. I love what was done under the hood. Looks like a quality build. Interior looks pretty good as well.

Is there some reason this subject is re-visited? Isn't the original thread four years old? Does the car still exist?

WhennI first say the pic of the car, I said, WOW, that's a nice car, but the wing.....I'm just not a fan of those big wings on RT/10's. I think the hood is an okay change, not really necessary, but looks good.

This is a perfect example of why newbies should NOT be able to post on threads older than 2 years.

Did you mean to say "This is a perfect example of why newbies should NOT be able to post on threads older than 2 years"?

I'm a newbie but I certainly understand where you're coming from.

I'm not sure but the owner a guy named Dan something a local here in Santa Rosa sold his software company and had tonnes of money to do what ever he wanted to his car. Last I heard he got diagnosed with some form of Cancer and I do not think he is around to defend any comments about his build anymore....

Tread lightly or you may get a visit form the ghost of viper owners past tonight
