New info on the \'06 Coupe

I was at the dealer today for some service and checked in on the ordering status for the new coupe. They checked the computer and found this new information.
There will be a "First Edition Group" available for order. This will include:
18x10 & 19x13 polished aluminum wheels
Color keyed park brake handle
Color keyed shift knob
Dash plaque
Duel white painted stripes
Leather trimmed seats
Leather wrapped steering wheel

Correct me if I am wrong but almost every recent picture I have seen has had these features (except the dash plaque). Does this suggest that the "regular" package will not have these features. Dealer didn't know. Still no pricing info, including how much extra for the First Edition package.

I have been up in the air about whether to order one or not. In the end I decided to place the order - First Edition package. My name will be on the window sticker and yet I have no obligation to buy it when it arrives. The dealer is being very cooperative in this regard.

If I only had a crystal ball my decision would have been easier.

I ordered mine last week. I was told there will be 400 of the blue with white stripes. I believe after that there will be red with black stripes, black with some kind of a stripe and then solids available. It doesn't appear the car is going to be appreciated on this forum. Too bad.

Numbers are not definite, and neither are the color combos for later. We should all know fairly soon, but the initial cars will be First Editions, and though some numbers have been bandied around, as of last week, it was not set in stone. Have not heard of any Red with black stripe combos at all, and this may have been caused by the order codes for only black and red that came out prior to the Blue/White,and were later yanked as inaccurate. Red and Black are available in the 2006 SRT-10 ( no stripes ,just car color codes ), as are three style of rims ( though one style is in indefinite delay status ).

Hope this clears up some confusion or clarifies that most other info is just rumors that should not be construed as fact as yet?

Current style ( possibly available later on Coupe , standard on SRT-10 ), new five spoke seen in all the press releases, and late availability on the rims shown on the European Version ( Red/white striped Coupe ).

well stated i agree with you on the fact that the coupe will not get
a warm welcome on this site, i for one have seen this in person and it is just
awesome in my eye's. looks are subjective but i see nothing not to like. one
thing to keep in mind we are a very small percentage on this board, many are
not even aware of this site. funny thing is if you want a great deal on a srt
just come to this site, if you ever need or want to sell one DONT LIST IT HERE.

Bob K, I got a call from my dealership last week, gave me my order number, also stated it was first edition package..

Going over the order, no mention of any other color scheme offered, except it could be ordered without stripes...

I know your thinking possible hp gain in 07, my opinion, no way, ask (WANTED) we got all kinds of head bobbing and eye winking from all the powers to be, and look what we got...which is ok with me, I just did not need all the BS hype, ******* on me and saying it was raining...

I am of the opinion, and it is just mine, that we are looking at the last Viper coupe that will ever come out of Conner. period.....I am still unsure to date if the Vert will be built in 06.

I love the Viper, and I do not like seeing its possible demise. guess I better get out and find a Gen 1 here soon....

My opinion, 86k to 88.5k, or atleast that is what I have allocated for the purchase, maybe Bill P, or Chuck T, can correct my best guess...

No one seems to know what the sticker will be on this car. My dealer is selling for $1,000 over invoice to WA VCA members. I have talked with one other popular out of state dealer and he is offering the same deal.

If I recall, when the Gen II coupe first came out there was no additional charge for the stripes. Thereafter the stripes were $3,000 extra. The First Edition package for the '06 coupe includes stripes but we we don't know how much this package will add to the base price.

The red viper srt-10 coupe at the auto show had the same type of interior. so maybe thats standard.

according to automobile magizane (febuary 2005) the new srt-10 coupe might get new springs and dampers any news on that?
