Good morning Heppy

I am from London...emigrated to the states when I was 26.
I bought a 2002 GTS about 3 months ago. It's my daily driver as in my only vehicle. It's probably the car that has offered me the most fun since my Triumph days zipping around Hampstead and the West End in the 70s.

It's surprisingly docile and well behaved in traffic too. Highly recommend it even as a daily driver, except maybe for the cost of petrol in the UK. What it is now....about 6 dollars a gallon...flippin heck.....

Good luck mate

Hello and Welcome,
If you're looking for a 96 blue with white strippes (my favorite), one of the member of Viper Passion, located in Belgium, is selling one. The site is in french, but I think the seller speaks english, if not, I ll be glad to help you.
The car has 9200 miles, has nice set of rims (Purner, I think) and the asking price is about 62k euros.
I try to post the link:

Hi heppy, I take it you've found our UK club site and forum, vipers are hard to come by over here there's never more than 10 for sale at anyone time, which means there isnt much depreciation if you buy right

I know of a steel grey 2000 euro spec about to go on sale this week

Heppy,
The Viper is certainly a car with a lot of unique personality, and if it suits you, it will keep you interested for a long time. Usually I get tired of a car after a few years and want something else, but I've had my GTS for over four years now, and I still love it. Needs some more power, though! :-D Wish you the best with your search.

Petrol is now 90 pence per litre over here so buying a viper will be expensive to run but who cares. Currently driving a BMW Z3 2.8, i know its a lot smaller than a viper but i only get about 30 to the gallon in that.
I have joined the Viper UK club over here and been contacted about a few Vipers for sale. There arn't many on Auto Trader or anywhere really so i think the best policy is to buy of club members, thats how i bought my BMW.
Thanks for the great welcome and advice everyone..

The Boy with Fish has told me to spread the word, after Chuck set his rubbers right at the BQ as well :)

....although TB would gladly be exchanged for ACR FE :headbang:

Got in touch with a company in Edinburgh who import but only from Australia for some reason. They told me it would cost 5-6 thousand pound to import and the Viper would be around 168 thousand Australian dollers. Don't know what the going rate is from the U.S. but does this compare. I was at a showroom at the weekend and they can convert most American cars/trucks into right hand drive for 5-6 grand

you will not buy cheaper than the US, when buying a Aussie car like the UK you will pay a premium price, they arent cheap there, in fact prices I've seen make them more expensive than UK prices

I'd forget the UK conversion to, that seems a waste of money plus a lot of people wont buy a right hand viper if you sell on

I agree with Neil about the right hand drive. plus the Viper give you plenty of power to pass, and a small camera / monitor montage will be cheaper to see what's coming ahead...

Thanks for the info i'll bear it in mind.

I was watching the Gumball 3000 from the US last nite on Men and Motors, do any of you guys compete in that, must admit i didn't see any Vipers but i missed a bit of it, it looked like the police were pretty keen especially in Texas, i think a Bently got pulled at least 3 times in 2 miles..

Gumball? Yeah, a few crazy people do that, but it takes a lot of money, time, and just plain nothing-else-to-do. I'm not that lucky!

If you wanna go fast, you can get it out of your system by going to the local track with a club. Less money, and you don't need to take a lot of time off work.

I've heard of brand new SRTs going for less than sticker. If I remember right, there was one that sold a while back for $67,000, brand new. Am I dreaming, is that right? I'll have to do a search to see if thats realistic, or just an anomally.

I looked up the new price over here and if i remember they cost 70 thousand pounds so if you saw one for $67,000 i'd snap it up and get it sold and make a quick profit.
Think i'm gonna have to visit the States and check out some of these prices, seems they are double over here!!

just remember $67K isnt the total price, whatever you buy add 33% for taxes, shipping,SVA,road tax etc..... you cant buy new in the US without a US postal address

I think you need some research time
