I just finished installing ported heads from heffner's performance. other mods include, arrows rocker arms and B&B headers from Roeracing. Car feels much stroger but I'll have to put it on the dyno to find out exact HP gain. Can someone give me an idea how much HP i should expect from these mods.

thanks
chris

What other mods did you have prior to installing the heads, and what besides heads, rockers & headers do you now have?

Assuming you've not got mixture problems due to lack of cats, and that you upgraded lifters at the same time you swapped the heads, I'll fearlessly guess 480-510 RWHP / 500-530 RWTQ. I would expect you'll also have traction problems in 1st gear with those #s and the 3.73 rear end.

You did not do a Base Line Dyno? if not you will never know How much you gained. 373?! that might be for someone that has no mods but I think you will see some serious wheel spin. I went from a 3.45 back to a 3.07 due to traction Problems.

Chris,

How are the 3.73's with that kind of Horsepower? Are you still able to hook the Michelan's? I have a '98 with Approx. 450 RWHP and can hook with 3.73's, but figured if I added more HP I would have to return to stock of lower (numerical) gears. Any info. would be appreciated...

i didn't change cam because stock cam sounds very good with ported heads. ported heads made cam chopier and i think it would be little too much with cam.

i didn't have any traction problem with stock tires. car goes through gears very fast with 3.73 but it really feels good.

i installed DIY heads from Heffner performance and dynoed my car today. it took some time to install but it wasn't hard to do.

stock bottem end and stock cam
507rwhp
520rwft
i'll post dyno sheet soon

I got B&B headers and Arrow rockers from Roeracing.these parts are very nice and EASY to install.

thanks goes out to Jason Heffner at Heffer performance center, Sean Roe at Roeracing and Todd at Arrow racing engines.

Congratulations on the numbers Chris! I was there last night when the dyno pulls were done. Not only did you make some great numbers, but the sound of that car is awesome! Now let's see what it does on the track.

Thanks Gary

Can you post my dyno sheet for me if I email it to you? I tried but I'm not sure how to do it.

Thanks
Chris

If you plan to take that high-HP car to the track, w 3.73 installed, you will need a differential cooler. And maybe even a consider a tranny cooler.

Its not just wheelspin to be concerned about, but output shaft speed and bearing temps and diffy temps.

Thats a LOTTA HP to run thru 3.73..... I bet you are a very patient person with your throttle inputs !
