Just drove back from DC Performance, where they installed a beautiful Paxton, intercooled supercharger.
Installation is very sanitary, and impressive. Heavy traffic on the way home, so could not wring it out, but initial impression is very good.
No surging, noise, or vibration. It was difficult to tell than the car was anything but stock. The Corsa track exhaust is louder, and has a little resonance in it, but the supercharger is quiet, and unobtrusive.
Dyno results very nice. Stock = 427/456. With Paxton and Corsa 649/584. My stock #'s on another dyno were 444, so this might even be conservative. Using 15% driveline loss, this equals almost 750 hp at the crank. Dan tuned the car conservativly, as it runs on 91 Octane California gas.
Low end improvements are mild, but from 3.5K it kicks Asp.

Think this is going to be a very popular enhancement. :usa:

How about a ride for a beer afterwards? :2tu: I'm going S/C soon but was thinking about waiting for the Roe system just to see.

Frank.
No problem on the rides.
I'll be on vacation next few weeks. Maybe hook up at Christmas party, either in Palm Springs, or Coronado.

Can't wait to let er rip!

I'm doing the heads on my car, then the Paxton comes next. I'm looking forward to the install. It's nice to see there are now several with this unit on the car.

The Roe system is very clean, and makes power lower down in the curve. I chose the Paxton due to Calif emissions issues. The air to water intercooler was icing on the cake. I chose DC performance due to reputation for quality work.
While this installation is very thought out, and is sanitary, I believe it is not a do it yourself project, except for the very experienced among us.
If you purchase this system, go to www.paxtonautomotive.com for a $100 rebate.
I had great plans to wring it out today, but looked outside, and it is raining. :(

Only if someone comes up with some sticky tires!
Any one have some slicks that work on standard SRT?

its an easy fix!!!! all you need is the archer racing ebake relo kit and bfg drags on 18x13 rims (345/30/18) thats what i use.

Howdy!

Sounds like a sweet setup! FYI, if you're going to calculate what number, 649 is the remaining 85% of, you figure it like this:

649/((100-15)/100) or 649/0.85

(vs. 649 x 1.15 which is adding 15% to 649, not figuring what number had a 15% loss).

So instead of nearly 750 at the crank, it's actually ~763 crank (assuming 15% loss), heheh, I found you another 13 HP!

Congrats on the great numbers!

DT

With Paxton and Corsa 649/584. My stock #'s on another dyno were 444, so this might even be conservative. Using 15% driveline loss, this equals almost 750 hp at the crank. :usa:

I hear it's $7995 installed, tuned, out the door. Not to bad. Not sure if it's the same tuner or not.

Thanks for your endorsement Paul. We have installed many of these systems and are always finding ways to make a good product even better. Our first car has over 4000 hard miles without a hiccup. We evaluate each car and baseline dyno test it before the install. We also check the vehicle for any updates or recalls that might be needed. We generally need about a week for the work. It takes our guys about 4 days to complete the job, then I like to drive the car at least 50-100 miles, double check it and re-dyno.

We are probably not the cheapest installer out there, but our prices are very competitive. We usually charge much less than actual time and make sure each car is properly tuned and tested before it goes out the door.

We also offer different levels of performance from 700-1000hp. Please feel free to call!

Congratulations Paul!

Great #'s for a reasonable, quick installation upgrade. I agree on the very popular enhancement  How much boost?

Nice to see positive words coming from these paxton S/C kits. :2tu: This is something we would love to install in the Chicagoland area. Being able to offer Motec with the kit would be a great solution for precision engine management for even higher horsepower applications with more boost.

Congratulations DC Performance, Nice shop too!
