Hi all--thanks for all the advice on the tire issue.

I had them installed today, though it took a while. They didn't scratch the car (shew! that was sooo stressful), but they left the rims all marked up with all the lub goop on the tires.

Driving back to work I did the silly left-right-left swervy roughing of the tires, and began to wonder precisely how I should break them in.

Any advice?

I'm not sure a break in is needed. Swerving can help heat them. If you're moving roughness should occur, nor may it be desirable

Break-in is simple: drive car on freeway for 10+ mins to heat tires. Avoid hard stops, starts, and cornering. Drive home, park car for >24 hours. Done.

Alternatively, order the tires from tire rack and have them heat-cycled before delivery. No break-in required.

Can I just say I'm in heaven???

I bought my ACR a year ago and had flat spots on the fronts.

The wheels have clearly been out of balance all that time.

I knew the new tires would make a difference, but OMG, I cannot BELIEVE how smooth the viper now drives!!

I can't WAIT to get back to 190MPH! I must see what it drives like with perfect balance and round...

Yes!!!

Vipers RULE, baby!!

It sounds like you have got the break in fingered out. Good!

But if you didn't, I was going to say.....

Go to your nearest dragstrip, roll through the water-box, stab the gas, immediately shift through the gears until you get to 4th gear. Keep mashing the gas and when you can no nonger breathe, you got'em broke in.

P.S. Try to stay off the rev-limiter.

Yep, round tires are definitely the ticket!

Hey Paul, are you from Abilene? I lived there until about 10 months ago. The name sounds familiar.
