I ran across a new Shelby - Dodge website.

Dodge Shelbys

Very cool, especially in the literature section. Chrysler needs to start putting out some advertisements like they used to. :D

There are a lot of archive pictures and articles. A 1989 Shelby/Dodge Tradesman conversion van?:omg:

Great site, I had a 79 TC3 that was lots of fun. I always wanted the Shelby Charger though. I kind of "raced" my friend in his 85 against my 80 280zx for top speed and we were equal..never knew how fast as the Z speedo maxed @ 85mph....

My first new car was an '86 Shelby Charger Turbo 1. I still have her. :) 237,000 miles.:omg: I did it's first engine rebuild less than 5,000 miles ago. I had the lower end gone through and put an new Enforcer head and turbo on her, some Michelin Pilots, replaced the flexible brake lines and brakes, etc. She runs as good as she did back in '86. Now I need to dig out my Direct Connection computer and plug that back in.

The Shelby Dodge cars are coming into their own, finally. Shelby recently had part of his Shelby Dodge collection put on display at his Las Vegas museum and assembly plant. Can you believe he has a modified GLHS Omni with 700HP.:2tu:

OMG.. You just reminded me of the Omni that was at Mopars at the Strip 2 years ago.. I was standing down on the far side of track to take photos of the upcoming Vipers.

This Fugly Gold Omni pulled up... Starting burning off the front tires... I kinda chuckled, since it was the first time I had seen it. Damn that thing was freaking fast :omg:

He has some videos posted at

The Ugly Old Omni

He smacks down a bunch of cars you would never think possible for an Omni to beat. :headbang:

I have the "Ultimate Shelby Daytona" in my Black T-III 92 Daytaon IROC R/T (Lotus DOHC factory) called a Chrysler Daytona Shelby (with a Gold Badge) in the UK.

Also have a cusomized, modified 84 Daytona with a modded T2 (220bhp @13psi and 35mpg). There is also a Blue/silver 85 Shelby Charger with new tires, brakes, struts, etc. Replacement 89 electronics and wiring harness in trunk. Turbo 88 Daytona Pacifica, 83 Charger and spare 89 Daytona parts car.

I did buy a heavily modified 88 Shelby Daytona with T-roofs and lowered. After installing the cambelt properly the s60 moddified engine was probably close to 400bhp at 26psi, but it was dangerous to drive after 16 psi so I gave it away to the Columnetza High School Drag Program.

at 13psi

I also collected all the parts for a 600hp, T3/T4 super Turbo, Hybrid engine and then sold it to a guy in another town when I bought a few Stealth R/T TTs. Is someone wants to buy some TDs, parts, engine and trans, PM me.

Pretty AWESOME Shelby-Dodge collection there RTTTTED.:2tu: I'd like to see some pics of that UK Chrysler T-lll with the Lotus head. Those were SWEET cars. I still smile from ear to ear when I get my '86 Shelby out for a drive.

MoparBoy's Dad has a mint Spirit R/T with about 10,000 on her.

I saw my first Phantom R/T at the Shelby Dodge Nationals last year. :2tu:

The Spirit R/T was never sold in canada, but I think that England had it listed as the world's fastest 4 door sedan at that time. I originally bought a RED 92 IROC R/T and supertuned that car. It was too fast and wouldn't drive 55. Everytime I looked away from the speedo the speed would creep up towards 100mph so after a couple of un-intentional tickets I sold it and bought the Black one. Car had a cracked head (common because the Mexican plant idiots installed steel core plugs in the alum heads) so I parked it. Found another Black IROC R/T and bought the drivetrain/head/turbo/pwr str/taillight panel etc. with only 20K on it. I ported and matchported the head for installation on my IROC R/T (which I havn't finished yet). Sold the short block 2 days ago for $500!!!

I installed all 89 electronics, brakes, susp and T2 stuff from a Shelby daytona into my 84 Turbo Z daytona. Only about 75,000mi. Jan '08 Domestic Driver - A bi-monthly online magazine featuring Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, and GM Cars from 1980+ article called "What Do Canadian's Do In Winter?" is about my TurboZ with a fresh paint job.

Here is the 97 Shelby GTS Viper. It was the Only ONE ever built. 25 were to be built, but only one was ever made. It will be on display:headbang: at the Shelby Dodge show SDAC-20. The show will be held at the Rose Hill Manor Museum in Frederick Maryland on June 27th.

The Shelby Viper I saw at VOI X has a Roe sc and other mods. Same one here? Owned by a firefighter?

Cool! Dad still has his factory order 92 Spirit R/T! Nice to see they were not forgotten! :)

Is it registered on the Shelby list? I've never seen one and was told that none were sold to canada. Might be the only Canadian Spirit R/T ever made?

Not on the list and was NOT available in Canada. He had to go to NY to order it them turn around and import it with 18 miles on it. That was the milage from dealer to border! ;):rolaugh:

I think that there was "issues" to do with the front bumper regulations that canada required but not the US. Many US cars (like the 92-95 Vipers) were not allowed in Canada.

The TC3 was the second highest rated hp of the Turbo 2.2s. The Lebaron convertible (heavy luxury car) had a Maserati headed DOHC head and extremely mild tune although there was only 500 (?) made.

Shelby was the first to utilize variable vane Turbo technology on a [production car. It spooled up fast, but didn't make the hp that the T3 did. The T111 R/T cars came with a '60' trim T3 that worked well. Saw a T3 in a Charger run 7 sec at Nopi once.

Merely changing the 4 cylinder exhaust system to a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2" mandrel exhaust would cause a boost increase of 2 psi and a 30hp gain.

Could be. I never heard an actual reason.

As for the 92-95 Viper, it was due to seatbelt location. The brand new Viper were shipped here and Europe in 92-95 with seatbelts in the same location as your GTS, where as the US cars got them on the doors.
