I know this is a little off topic but I really wanted to get Viper owner's impressions. It has been a while since I have been on here. I recently designed up a new supercar and I wanted to know what the guys on this forum thought about it. Due to the size of the car I have thought to use a V8, Corvette LS6, to be exact. I know this is the Viper board, and I have the high respect for Vipers so please don't criticize me for the engine choice. Please give me feed back on these drawings. Thank you for your time.

After drawing these cars I sent them to a guy I have been talking to lately, he designed the Saleen S7, and this is what he sent back. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I dont know.. it kind of looks like a Celica to me..
Waaay too japanese looking.
I dont know where you're getting your information but I am more or less certain that the LS6 will not be anywhere near the displacement or horsepower you're quoting.

I also have reservations about the performance figures you're quoting and feel that they are waaay too aggressive.

Good luck anyhow..

It looks Great!

I say go for it. Also, in direct disagreement with Afy, I think those numbers are attainable - especially given that it is a 426.

Any idea on weight and it's distribution?

Regards,

The engine specs are copied right out of Road and Track on the C5R. Since I will use the C5R engine with less compression, all the stats are the same except I lowed hp by 40 due to lower compression, other than that it is a direct copy. As far as the numbers I looked at the Lingenfelter Viper. The Viper has 580hp vs. 570hp though my target weight is 500lbs less and so actually using the numbers off the Viper they are relatively conservative. Thanks for all your input.

Oh I thought I had weight in there. I would like build the car along the same lines as the Saleen S7, but dimensionally smaller. The S7 is around 2750lbs so with an all wheel drive setup I would think it would be around 3000lbs +/-

If it's a rear engine loose the hood scoop and the black front grills, makes the car look "artificial" kind of like a ricer. Make everything functional like the air scoop on the roof. I like the look, kind of reminds me of a Lamborghini or Ferrari. Even though you said not to pick on the engine seriously loose the small block chevy. If this car is going to be $125K+ your going to kill your sales by using that engine. I would put a merlin 540ci big block, it might be tight but that would be my pick. Also for a 426ci engine 570hp@6,200 RPM seems un-realistic and 10.5:1 compression also seems optimistic for pump gas. My .02 good luck.

The front view reminds me of a Ferrari 360. Very cool stance! Go with some round lights within the taillight lenses, maybe some clear lenses, and the rear view will be complete.

Build it!!

Jason,
If you want to see something scary similar look at the new Autoweek (Sept. 24) "Fighting Bull" Lambo. Same headlights, same engine location, same front intakes, same engine/rear brake intake, probably the same wheel/tire size and six speed, exact same HP (570), 0-62mph= 3.8, over 200mph (205mph) etc. Maybe you could sell them the roof scoop from a GTS-R and a rear wing off a Vette and you'd have yours and their proto-types. The upside is... you've got to be on the right track if you're already dreaming about what Lamborghini is trying to build!

P.S. I do like your rear wheel arch treatment better.
