After getting ONE issue of burnt boots on a customer's car from our wire sets, we are going to be offering this option for the wires. It's a 1200 degree boot cover. It will slide over the spark plug boot and protect the boot from heat. Now this is not a necessary option you need to take. The last person who had the issue with the burnt boots did not have the factory installed metal heat shield sleeves installed in his car. They were missing. So any spark plug wire boots would of had some issues. I know there are vipers out there that maybe missing this item on their car so my solution for this add on is this.

You must be registered for see images

Cost to add this sock on is $10.00

Now compare to other socks out there for boots would cost over $50.00 or more and not sure if they would fit in a Viper. Mine will fit and will do the job if you are missing your OEM heat shields.

Just wanting to make sure I respond to issues that arise even if it's not the fault of my wires.

www.qualitywires.com We are the only ones that have different colors for your wires that you can pick! Plus we have the protection of hi temps!

On the plus side, those look like they could work on your little feet as boots too. Nice.

On a serius note, are those open to fraying on the ends, or are the sealed? I wouldnt want them to start looking "tathered" after one does a few spark plug change jobs, or washes their motor often (the high pressure spray would help to fray them, if they arent sealed on each end).

Serious question, as I am sure my Super Charger creates more heat then a Stock NA car, and I am looking forward to getting one of these sets, and think I will opt for those boots. If they are prone to fraying, I might buy a second spare set (and at $10 a pop per set, who couldnt afford to keep some spares).

Please let me know.

Jon

PS. Seriously, good product... but dont worry, I still hate you.

The socks are cut so fraying could happen if removed alot...but for $10.00 it shouldn't be an issue...

it's a cheap alternative and it works. It's either that and spend over $50 bucks for a set of socks that may not fit...plus these socks of mine won't show...they fit snugly inside the spark plug hole...out of site.

But I don't think fraying will be an issue on a serious note. On the other hand you like to chew on things so it may fray quicker for you. :D

also if you are really worried about fraying...simple fix...just put some hi-temp silicon on the ends. It should hold it in place...but like I said..I seriously doubt you need to go that far.

AB read the other post. It was not your responsibility to replace the other wires due to the owner overlooking the fact that he did not have the heat shields in place.

Thanks Frank,

I know it's not my responsibilty, but I will do this in good faith people will see I am really trying to do good business with the VCA. Obviously I can't do this all the time and since the cat is out of the bag that you need heat shields in place that will give more people heads up. But he just got his Viper and I want it to be a plesant experience for him as it was for me. Boots should not be an issue anymore with my new 1200 degree heat socks.
