Congratulations on your Viper, you will have fun.
The factory hard top is a SNAP to put on and take off. Since you car is coming with the top on, all you need to do to remove it is unscrew the 2 allen head bolts from the inside that attach the top to the front of the sport bar; unlatch the two catches above the windshield by rotating, then lift the top off. You should get 4 bolts and the leather forward part of the sport bar to put on when the top is off. Screw the 4 bolts into the sport bar in the appropriate places (only place they will go), turn the bolts in most of the way until the bar will slide down over the protruding bolts (the bar should have slotted holes). Tighten with a 1/2 inch open end wrench from the slots under the bar. To put the top back on , reverse the process.
I actually have put my top on by myself, by opening the door, grabbing the front and back of the top, and step with one foot into the seat (carefully, no shoes), and let it down into position.
