New wheels and tires Or Just new Tires ?

I need new tires for my 2000 ACR . I keep reading about people going with larger wheels 18's 19' 20's. So I'm not sure whether to upgrade tires and wheels or just get new tires . Or the third option is to buy track tires with my current wheels and then buy some street tire and wheels . Suggestions ? I will probably start out with just new tires , so what do you guys think ?

If you're thinking of getting bigger wheels, do it now. 6 spoke wheels look great, 10 spokes look awesome on an RT. Razors look great on the GTS.

Their is no reason to go to larger wheels except for your personal preference for aesthetics, or because used OEM Gen III wheels are relatively inexpensive.

If you are going to do many road course events, I would suggest not using the ACR BBS wheels. The reason is only that you subject them to more cosmetic damage possibilities on the track than just using them for street.

Stock wheels for track use with sticky rubber.
Aftermarket wheels 18's & 19's with whatever tires for the street

I ended up getting some Toyo R888's , but i'm still thinking about getting larger rims later .Maybe some HRE's . The question now is how big to go ? and what tires to match?
