I've been reading about the specs on the new Z06 and made some observations. The car will come from the factory with the following:

* Low restriction intake ducting
* High flow air filters
* Headers
* 3" exhaust w/ vacuum opening above 3,500 rpm for increased flow and sound
* Dry sump oiling system
* CNC ported heads
* Titanium intake valves
* 1.8:1 rockers
* six piston front and 4 piston rear brakes

GM has already put a ton of mods on the car from the factory.
WHERE'S THE FUN IN THAT!!!

What would we all do with our extra time and cash if we weren't contemplating the next mod. No more lengthy discussions on K&N vs. S&B, Borla vs. B&B vs. Corsa, header considerations, Vipair, T&D vs. Jesel, etc. etc. I guess there are always forced induction debates.

I haven't read which rear gear the car will come with but what do you want to bet they'll take the fun out of that too. Something a little shorter that 3.07? Probably something in the 3.43 range I'd guess.

Sell the Viper and buy a Z06? Not me. I'm having too much fun!

It will be like buying an AMG Mercedes - all about being able to afford it, not about loving cars. Super capable, but for "non-********-car guys."

I have a M-3 along with my ACR .I am thinking about trading it on a Z-06 I know you guys will hate me.But I am also considering a heavily discounted 04 or 05 Viper.Be honest what do you guys think.I never owned a Vette always hated the drivers that usually owned them and couldnt drive them.

What? Are you guys on Crack? That's like saying you would rather ride a fat chick than a hottie.

Enjoy your paddle shifter and move over to the right lane please...

Here's my personal $.02 cents which is probably worth alot less as I'm all of only 3 weeks of owning a Viper lol.... but throw whatever the heck you want into a Vette.... it still will never hold the prestige, and crowd pleasing curves and power of a Viper.... a Viper is a VIPER! AND ALWAYS WILL BE. I've been a fan longer than an owner.... and as a fan I can say I'd stare at a Viper all day... and wouldn't blink twice at a Vette.

With 11 to 1 compression, I don't think there will be a lot of forced induction debates either.

True, but 5lbs of boost is probably possible. Lower compression is only a set of heads away, but I'm sure most owners will opt for the Juice instead.

M-3 NO WAY the ACR

Had me scared there for a minute, guess you just can't get enough speed, I love my non viper time in my Benz, calms the nervous, keeps the outside out and the inside in and delivers me in style just not as quick, but you drive an M3 so you want a little of both, how bout the new 6 series BMW, that is sweet :p

..I must admit I have toyed with the E55 AMG a few times as the new daily cruiser........isnt it :2tu: fun

6 is nice but not enough performance.M6 will be cool and the new 400 hp M-3 might be cool to but I am at that bad state in life where I must have 500 hp and less then 3500lbs to be happy.Damn power is addicting . :) P.S. if I sold the ACR I Couldnt hang with you guys

I believe the Z06 comes with 3.42 rear gears. So you guessed just about right on that one.

It's great to see so many fast cars being produced. Dodge has some serious competition in the super car wars. The only real answer for Dodge is to build a 550 or 600 hp Viper Comp Coupe for the same price and maybe a 800 hp blower option to keep others at bay. We all know the Viper engine and drive train can easily handle a blower.

I had a 94 Z28 which had 10.5:1 I believe and I drove it with a nonintercooled Vortech 7 psi kit for over 40K miles without any issues.
