Today we did a nice tour thru the italian (also austrian and swiss) alps.
I made some pics which i want to share with you...
First pass was the Arlberg (1.793m/5.881ft) then Reschen (1.504m/4.933ft).
Highlight was the "Stilfser Joch" which is one of the highest passes in the alps (2.760m/9.053ft)
As you can see on the pics there are lots of winding roads. :) During the week there is less traffic and so it was a lot of fun :D:D:D

Greetings from Austria
Rainer

That's great, but ... where are shoulders? Where is the room to pass all those Beamers, Mercedes SLs and Porsches? I wanted to add Ferraris and vettes, but none of them showed at our AutoX last weekend. I did spank the rest and got 1st place though. I also posted a lot of reasons to come visit BC Canada. Interesting that your Alps Mtns are only 1,200-1400m as well as ours are.

AWESOME PICS! Wow, I need to get out and travel more. That one photo with that enormous blanket of snow on the peak looks like it's about ready to avalanche!

Nicely done video with good camera setups on the course. It's amazing to read the expert retards' comments on the driving.Noone in their right mind would push the car to its limit on a public road like that one in Switzerland with those friendly stone markers and cliffs lining the shoulder. That one cow on the road seemed to be interested to check your car out :rolaugh:

Thanks for that action video. Enjoyed it immensely, for me the best I've ever seen. You were lucky to have the road closed and able to enjoyed your car safely... Thanx again

For the moving scenes when the camera was mounted on the car i used the "GoPro"
A very light and small camera - comes with a multiflexible holder.

Beautiful pics with the viper! Was there last year with the family and drove through the Dolomites (Spelling ?). Unfortunately was in a 9 passenger Fiat Van:dunno:

I have family in Germany, Wunseidel and visit them every other year and always make it through Austria on my way to Latiza. Beautiful country you guys have there, probably one of the most striking places I have ever been.:headbang: Can't wait to go back. I was actually surprised to see an RT-10 in Wunseidel on my 2nd day in Germany. Only viper I saw in 3 and a half weeks, also only managed to see 3 vettes, definitely a far cry different from the states.

Hello Rainer! Why don't you ever show us pictures of your beautifull wife in her dirndl dress???
Greetings from Heidelberg
Drew

Hi Drew

Haven´t seen you on any viperclub meet this year - hope everything is o.K. with you!
I will tell her to put her dirndl dress on at our next VCD-meet in August when we will drive through the swiss alps. :):)
But you are still not on the list for that meet?

Rainer

Hello Rainer!
If she wears her Mini Dirndl I'll come to the event in August!
;-)

I am well. The events are a little too much the same every year. The people are wonderful. I like race events and this year I am limited for vacation days. That means 24 heurs du mans and the classic as well as the mille miglia take precedence. I would love to visit Wien this year but I don't know when I will have the time.

Drew
gruesse zu hause also...
