If I tune my nitrous on the extra safe side, maybe losing a little HP, is it a given that nothing will explode or backfire? I am willing to loose a little HP in order to put my nitrous in the safe zone! Is there such thing, or am i playing with fire when it comes to nitrous?

From your question alone, I would spend a little more money and have a Viper Tuner dial it in for you.
That's the safest bet if you ask me.

what year is your car? forged or cast pistons? how big of a shot?

I run a 100 to 150 on my cast pistons. Sure you are playing with fire BUT if the tune is good you will not get burnt.

Just make sure that the system is well installed and has a fuel switch and RPM window switch. Then make sure to have it dyno tested for proper air/fuel mixture.

I'm running a 150 shot, and it's definitely on the rich side which leaves some HP on the table, but does make me feel comfortable about reliability.

I used quite often the 300 shot.
No problems, if tuned properly.
Rich does not always mean perfectly safe...

Dude, the AF should be fine with the pills that are in it. Just slap it on the dyno, ignore the initial A/F spike, and see what it does! You don't want to run it so rich that you wash the freakin rings off! Somewhere between 10 and 11 to 1 should be fine.

direct port ....sweet! definetly the best n20 setup you can put on the car compared to the traditional intake tube design.
