True, but they're scarce as hen's teeth when Viper Days comes to town. Lots of grumbling about price. Oh well....

Texas-

We have come to Texas a few times and we have not gotten a good response. We do have a filled up event but unfortunately it is not with many Texas drivers all Northerners. I think the last event we only had about 5 Texas drivers, outside of the normal Texas following. Maybe if you guys showed more enthusiasm about the event we would come back. All I have to say about the price is you get what you pay for!!

God Bless Texas!

Viper Days is currently signing contracts for 2002 and working on 2003. Tracks are hard to get. Remember we want a three day weekend and most existing tracks are already booked. Most tracks honor the next years date to go to this years holder. If they do not want it then it is available.
As for TWS - we had a date in 2000 but when when we wanted to renew for 2001 they gave it to another group and we were out!
As for the Motorsports Ranch - after we got notification of the TMS cancelation the ranch was booked.
We have a date in 2002 at TWS.... hope to see you all there!!!

Motorsports Ranch = No indoor plumbing and 30 degrees in November. Not really my idea of a great location....

I cannot believe that advertise themselves as a "Motorsports Country Club" and you *** in a Port-o-john.... gross.

I can't imagine caring what kind of "facilities" they have at a race track. To each their own I guess...

As a Texan, a MSR member and fairly active trackie, some counterpoints.

MSR now has indoor plumbing! The clubhouse is nearing completion and will be a nice facility.

TWS better? Faster, certainly, but worse runoff and not as technical, IMO. MSR's track is set to expand in the near future, so look for a longer course in 2002.

As for Texans not wanting to do Viper Days events, well I had an unavoidable conflict with last year's TWS date. That's my excuse and I am sticking with it!

I would have participated in the "finals" both years at my home track of MSR, but could not since I did not have the requisite participation at multiple events. Now I know the Mallett Vettes regularly participate and "earned" a right ot be at the finals, but I can say that I was miffed to be at my home track relegated to watching Vipers and Vettes drive at VIPER days. How about giving MSR members the right to participate automatically, even if it is the finals?

As for cost, well it is about twice the cost of any other track event I have attended for any other car club. You get more, but frankly I can do without the catered lunch and large guest fees and any other amenity except for track time and instruction. Add the significant cost to trailer cross-country to other events and I am afraid I just have to put Viper Days on my wish list unless it comes back to Texas.
