Non-factory painted stripes affect value?

I was looking at an '09 Gen IV that has painted stripes but they are not factory applied. Actually, the stipe pattern doesn't seem correct although the painter did a nice job on them.

The biggest difference seems to be that he did not paint the area at the rear where the license plate bracket goes nor are the stripes progressively wide enough as they go over the roof to the rear. The rear stripes are wider than the front and they don't look bad. It's just that if you've seen factory stripes and then see these, you know they're different.

Would this hurt the value? Does anyone have a pic of a true, factory-applied set of stripes on an '09?

Thanks.

Raven, IMO buyers either want or don't want stripes when they look for a viper. Factory stripes are more desirable, a little hard to say how much difference aftermarket stripes impact pricing? To some looking for stripes the added on ones may make them a buyer for your car. Most who look to stripes a viper with paint know that a good job costs 3-5K

As for the correct '09 stripes. take a look in the gallery or on line with ebay or autotrader, both '08 and '09's are the same. BTW, factory stripes don't go through the license plate and the rear stripes are wider than the hood stripes. Post a picture. good luck, Mike

Thanks Mike. I must have seen a '10 then because its stripes went through the bracket area?
