seems a good bit of people are coming to this event; Gerald from Mn, John from Miss, some texas boys, Ohio guys, the crazy Macedo clan and many others; so, is there lodging for us vipers or is it a hotel/motel free for all??

I'd say just do the drive, but that's just me. 100 miles isn't much for a drive to and from for a day for me. To help you decide; try to determine when you want to arrive, how late you want to stay, then how early you want to get back to the track the next day.

I'll ask when I'll call. I won't be able to do it the rest of the week or this weekend. I have a cousin I haven't seen in 7 years coming to my house this weekend. I have to clean up my room, the bathroom, and probably some others before they get here Fri.

We stayed at the L&K. It is close and efficient. If you want to be close you are not going to find covered parking. This is a very samll town.

Hey guys, Norwalk Oh is 15 miles south from Cedar Point. Cedar Point is the premier roller coaster park in the world!! Cedar Point has many motels as well. Your also just a short ferry ride from the Erie Islands. This place is party central. It's the Florida Keys of the North Coast!! So come early and have some fun! Remember RSVP me if your attending the Saturday Night Pit Party at Clavin's> We got to get enough Steak and Lobster!!

Snake Bitten has posted the local motels. I suggest you stay in Norwalk and branch out to the other attractions. None of the local motels offers a parking garage, sorry.

However; The Ohio VCA will have a 40x80 tent on grounds (fri, sat & sun) you are welcome to leave your cars in overnight. We'll take you to the hotel if you like? Security at the track is 24/7. Security in town is no problem either. Norwalk hosts, Super Chevy, Ford Fun Weekend, World Finals and many other major events. The town and the track are experienced in catering to valuable cars.

If enough of us are staying at the same Hotel we can all put a dollar in for a 24 x 7 security person. We did this at Beechbend and it seems to work out fine and we all can sleep good all night. What track is this and what days. I just woke up and there is a race?

All in the topic title, Norwalk (at least the town name, NHRA sanctioned track), Sept 12-14. It's about 45 mins outside Columbus.

Thanks for correcting me. I have seen an NHRA event run on that track (I'm guessing that's what it was). It was on ESPN 2 a while ago.

Officially, Norwalk says no need for rollbars until 10.99 for coupes. They are giving us .5 second off the IHRA rules. My rule don't ask, don't tell. Tech guys asks "What do you think your car will go?" Answer maybe high 11s. After we (Ohio VCA) and Norwalk tech the cars, they all look the same to the staff. We've never had one checked again.

Viperzilla:

A little clarification, Norwalk is only 45 minutes from Columbus, if you consider Mansfield to be a suburb or you are flying, LOL. Like Paul indicated it is 15 minutes from Sandusky. Because the tourist season is winding down, Sandusky should have a lot of open rooms.

IHRA also requires a fire retardant jacket at 11.99. Paul might want to comment on that.

Right Jack, your better off over prepared. Rules require a fire retardant jacket for 11.99 or quicker. So bring your safety equipment.
10.00-11.99 Helmet and jacket, no shorts while driving.
7.50 - 9.99 Helmet, jacket, pants, gloves and neck collar.

I'll bring a couple jackets just in case. Now I have never been questioned for not wearing a fire jacket in the 11s, but if your in the tens you better have one.
Be safe bring all your equipment.

I'm about 30-45 mins away from the track. If you'd like me to call around, let me know. PM me about it.

Sorry Jack, I don't know where you're getting confused.
