Not a better car in the world?

Strange... I bought this car to own temporarily but I am STILL thrilled...
I have mixed feelings about the new SRT. It's a great looking car and from all accounts from those who've driven it, it's a great vehicle. But somehow, it just doesn't look like a Viper to me. Where's the sheer muscle and elegant curves of the GTS? I'm not sure it'll ever appeal to me like the Gen I and Gen II cars do. Maybe this is what it feels like to start getting old...

Anyway, I'm just feelin' blessed to have the opportunity to drive this beast!

You pretty much summed it up. The "old" Vipers are going to be collector's cars because nothing else from Viper matches the looks. Keep your rare one year only color Viper as a long term investment. If you do mods, keep all the original parts for 20-40 years from now when you possibly may be too old to drive your Viper and want to sell it.

It's still thrilling to slide into the driver's seat and turn the ignition. Normally I get bored pretty quickly... I wonder if that will ever happen with the Viper?

Ryan,

Ditto on the bored quickly with the cars comment- except THIS car. In the last 2 years alone we're gone thru 11 daily drivers. Ahh! Depreciation *****! In the last 4 months I've had to change my sig twice. MB230k to MB SUV. Jag to Lexus etc.. but the VIPER IS HERE TO STAY! ! ! Viva Las Viper- to quote VOI5 in Vegas.

So true, my job has me on the road everyday. I see tons of Porsches, Mercedes, and BMWs, even Ferraris. Rarely do I see a Viper. Maybe two a month if I am lucky. It is such a high when you do see one. Knowing what the guy driving is thinking. Its good to be King.

I thought this car would be a stepping stone to the big buckers as well, talked of GT40, even laid out a timeline to get into a Ferrari there for a while.

Then I buy this thing and nothing else seems to matter, and I get asked that from alot of people, "Where do you go from there", other than faster in your Viper with go fast goodies.

Question that's tough to answer, if your the kind that attaches driving satisfaction from the price tag there is plenty of places to go from here.

If you love flogging on a low tech motor that is within a few tenths of a million dollar car (McClaren), and begs for more on a daily basis, with no qualms of dumping the clutch at 5K for sheer giggle factor, Viper is the one. I'm sticking around......

Cars ARE an investment in your mental health. Atleast for me they are. As an actually investment, probably not in our lifetime but maybe someday...
