Bump--So, what is the status of Jiminy Peak the 21st?? A no -go? It would be the only event we'd be able to make for the rest of the driving season...hope it's not cancelled.

I hope to hook up with you guys on this one. I am travekling back from Maryland early in the morning and to to meet you guys. I probably won't make the first meeting place but hope to at least find you at Jimmy Peak. Can anyone give me an Idea of travel time from central Jersey?

Dave when I did it last year I left from Central NJ and it was about 225 miles or so. I would say 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours going the speed limit. You could probably do 3 hours or so at 80 MPH.

It's an awesome drive from the NYC area. About 2.5 hours if I remember correctly.

Steve Johnson, [email protected] our CT events director, has taken it upon himself to try to gather up 30 folks to make this happen. He's forwarding emails as I type. If you are interested, PLEASE fire him an email ASAP so we can secure this event. Our deadline is today!

Thought of that, but this is the last weekend that they're open for the alpine slide, etc. They break it all down to prepare for Skiing.

Just an interesting side-note about Jiminy Peak that was in our Albany paper this morning. They are installing windmills (we'd seen the HUMONGOUS turbines going by!) and going to use them to produce the snow this year, as well as energy. Would be cool to see them...so we may take a trip out there to look. ~juli

Yep, that's what they were driving by~~the huge wind turbines. They are installing them in the first ski resort to use them...very cool!! We call them windmills here~~ (There are windmill farms actually around us). ~juli
