DO NOT, DO NOT remove cats in Kali :2tu: Don't forget smog

Mark you should no better :usa: :D

Dave, I would never.....I mean come on what kind of.....I am....

It's for testing...Yeah, that's it! Testing.

Yes, the sims work on 99's.

Ulysses, I don't doubt that they will "work" on a 99, I am wondering if I even need them on a 99. I thought Vipers that are older the XXXX did not need sims and I am just wondering if the 99 is in that group.

Ohhhh!!! So why didn't you say so............... or did you? LOL!

The 99's will require sims but as you can see, as 99 R/T 10 proves, every once in a while there is the exception.

But since you are OE, Mark, I think you are going to need them. You can always run w/o the sims and see if the CE light will come on and order the sims later. I'm sure Roe or whom ever you get them from can overnight them and if your not using the Viper as a daily driver it shouldn't be a concern.

Could I just unplug my O2 sensors now and then wait a while to see if it sets a code?

If so, how long would it take for the "Check Engine" light to come on?

If you just unplug them, the check engine light will come on right away. They need to send some kind of signal to the PCM.

Re: O2 sims on a \'99?

I have a question which is related to this topic. I hope you dont mind my temporary hijack.

I have a 99 acr no cats. I do not get a check engine but DMV gets a not ready when trying to inspect . the not ready is in only two categories (both of which are related to the o2 sensors I believe.)

My question is, will o2 simms deal with this or is my problem somehting altogether different. (btw I have thousands of miles on it since last battery disconnect so I dont think its a learning issue)

Thanks in advance

Phil

Duh! :smirk: That makes sense. Thanks.

I don't have the sims and am w/o cats. No problems so far(been over a year).

I have a 99 acr no cats.

It's beginning to look like I am not gonna need sims. :headbang:
