Car sounds great! Also, really diggin' your garage, even cleaned up I can't make mine look like that. You have no concern storing your bike over the Viper???:dunno:

Nope. I have both cars angled into that stall now, so the bike actually hangs over the Vette now:lmao:.

You have much higher ceiling than my garage, as my bedrooms are situated over the garage (not great in the winter).

By the way, besides the Roe SC, did you do other engine mods... like cam, heads, headers, etc.? Most curious about the cam, whether stock or not, pretty lumpy!

Thanks!

I believe the bottom end is stock. I have T&D rockers, 70mm TBs, Belanger headers, no cats, Corsa track exhaust. I think the rockers make the 708 cam sound more lumpy. :2tu:

Thanks! Yes, I've heard that about the 1.7 rr's.

Sounds really good...hope mine sounds even a fraction of that when I put on the Roe metal hi-flow cats!

Cam, man, that's quite impressive. So, did Stryker heads and (looks like) 1.7 rr's...didn't see if stock (assume not) or perf cam. Other than ported, polished, cc'd, what else do they do to the heads? You did a very complete job, really impressed with the heat shield around the header area...well thought out!

Good stuff!:headbang::headbang:

I don't want to side track this thread with too much engine dialogue, but the heads are a completely different casting than stock, they are quite expensive but worth every penny. The rockers are Jesel and specific to those heads.

I just discovered this thread for the first time lol and went through all 8 pages realizing there's not one sound clip using the American Racing Headers on a GEN II

I do like the "AFTER" setup for the below 99 GTS tho, considering I already have Hi-Flow Cats and Corsa Cat-Back.. :2tu:

Found this on YouTube, comparing '99 GTS before/after some exhaust work:

Before:Stock Headers, Stock Cats, Corsa Cat-Back:

Yup, sounds good and healthy...pretty nasy idle!:D

I know.. I def like it. I wonder how new 1.7 Rockers/pushrods thrown in the mix would make it sound. ;)

I have found some clips of the ARH on 06 SRT and the car sounds sick....

YouTube - A&C Performance 2006 Viper dyno American Racing 1 3/4 header

YouTube - A&R w Corsa Dodge viper 06 Sound

YouTube - American racing headers w Corsa Viper 06

I remember Toddy from Bad Boyzz Garage posting this one awhile back of the American Racing Headers too.. sounds awesome!

True, but the later GEN III/IV's side exhaust makes a different sound than the Gen II's. I do like the overall sound of my car now with the Roe cats and muffler delete, but the small bullet resonators on my muffler delete must have some loose internals causing that buzzing/rattling at idle...takes away from the overall sound at idle. Considering cutting them out if it doesn't cost much...would have to put in extension pipes and would prefer they were welded.

I know...which is why I've been dying to hear how the ARH sound on a GEN II, but have been unsuccessful in the past month trying to find an audio clip of them on one...

I'm glad to hear you're happy with the sound from you new Roe high-flow cats tho... have you asked Tator his opinion on resolving the buzzing/rattling at idle?

I did discuss the buzzing with Chuck before putting in the Roe's, but he thought that the new hi-flows would take care of it, faster air flow. But, the buzzing is only noticed at idle. I guess my options are, leave it, cut them out and replace with straight pipe, replace with new resonators (Magnaflow possibly).

Here's the back portion of my muffler delete, either from Fitzgerald Performance or from Snake Oyl...both offered this type of pipe.

Actually like the look and sound, but the resonator interior material seems to be coming apart, hence the buzzing sound. Not sure if I'll like the sound after cutting these out and don't want to spend money on another pipe - Corsa, RT or...

B&B headers
B&B Catback
High Flows
X-pipe

Sounds perfect for me, nice dark sounds without too much of a drone :)

nutkees, you're setup sounds really good. I didn't do much research on B&B Headers or their cat-back. I currently have the Corsa cat-back which I don't plan on changing anyway, but the B&B do seem to make a really nice sound. I like your setup a lot..

After a month of research and reading different threads on here, along with speaking to different people and getting their opinions I finally decided on my new setup. I was leaning towards Belangers, but went with the new ACRX aka American Racing Headers after I spoke with both Nick from American Racing Headers and the Wizard Chuck Tator on the phone yesterday.

So my Exhaust setup will be:
American Racing Headers 1-5/8" X 1-3/4" step design
200 cell ultra high flow metallic substate cats
Corsa 3" Cat-back Exhaust

So considering no one has any videos of this setup installed in a GEN II online, since I looked for a month and found nothing...I will post a sound-clip of my setup when it's done. The Wizard told me my car will sound completely different and be MUCH louder.:2tu:

Thanks man!

Yup, the American Racing High-Flow Metallic Cats. I was planning on using my Ceramic RandomTech High-Flow cats I already have, but Tator suggested if I'm doing headers it only makes sense to use the 3" Cats with the American Racing since they will bolt up nicely to the Headers. Also, my current Cats are 2.5" to my stock headers and 3" to my corsa, so they would not work with American Racing Headers since I would need 3" on both sides of the cats.
