For those of you that dont change ur own oil, wheredo you take the viper?

You will get various answers...including dealer, private shop, chain stores, and some who pay their local quick lube to let the owner do it. I either do it myself, or let a trusted Viper Tech do it.

Where do you live? There are a few Viper owners at my garage most weekends. You likely have Viper owners near you that work on their cars themselves that would be glad to help.

I am in corpus christi tx and there arent alot of vipers in this city. I know of 2 newer vipers but locally I am the lone 2nd gen

All the major chains are around here but not really in the know about local speed shops, and I really dont have a way to get under the car in my own garage.

A 4post lift was an excellent investment for me. Makes the maintenance on all my cars a lot easier.

Hopefully someone in Tx can point you to a reputable shop.

Its really not a hard process to change the oil on these cars. I would say its well worth it to learn if you have never done it before. Knowing its done right is great piece of mind.

I go to Walmart.

They have a pit. No lift required.

They are thrilled to do it and take special care ...

Neither Mopar dealer in the area can get the Viper off the ground.

My son works at a Valvoline Instant Oil Change up here in NTX, and same thing - they have a pit so no lift require. I know that they also allow you to bring in your own oil filter and oil, so you can make sure you are getting what you want put back on/into your Viper.

I just moved from ingleside.... I took my viper to Allen Samuels dodge in Aransas Pass, they have a viper tech

Super easy to do. Just get a low profile jack. You should have one anyways just in case you need to do some maintenance or change a flat.

Agreed. My car is lowered and I got this jack and 2 stands.

It will probably pay for itself in 2-3 oil changes. The filter and drain plug is easy to get to and it's quite easy.
