Oil gauge in my Gen 3 is ******* past 80 when key in on and whiule running. Does anyone know if this indicates bad sender or bad gauge?

Gen 4 cars have 100 psi gauges I have been told. Does anyone know if they will interchange with Gen 3 without changing sender?

Thanks for the help.

It may be the sending unit, but It also may be the wires. Check to make sure the wiring isn't damaged, because if it is, this will also peg the gauge.

Checked wires and all look fine. Unplugged and gauge drops to '0'. Sender looks impossible to remove without pulling pan.

Ideas anyone?
