A few weeks ago I let my friend Mike, who has been battling cancer drive my viper. He always remarked how much he liked my cars. So I met him at a friend's house and told him to hop in. We went a ways down the road and I pulled over. I got out and told him to hop in the drivers seat. It was a little tough for him beacause I built a two inch seat lowering kit and he was alot shorter than me. Despite having a little trouble he loved it and was grinning from ear to ear. well yesterday on 9/11 he died. I hope that a dream on mine to have a viper made his life a little happier for a short time. He was a great friend and the world is a little colder place without him in it for me. It's amazing how things like cars can cheer people up if only for a brief time.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, but that was a great thing to do for a good friend....I bet it brought him a lot of smiles whenever he thought about being behind the wheel.

Regards,
Aaron

That's an awesome thing you did. I'm sorry about your loss.

Not to steal any thunder from your thread, but we had a guy call in and his 12yr old son has leukemia, and his dream was to just sit in a Ferrari. So I had the guys trailer our red F430 to his house and left it with him for the day. You're right, cars really do bring joy to people and it's an honor and a privilege when we get an opportunity to cheer up, or make a wish come true for some one less fortunate.

That simple action and gesture probably meant more to him than all the words in the world. You did a great thing.
May he rest in peace......with a huge Viper Grin

He is probably driving his own Viper now, looking down on you. You gave him his first test drive. Compassion is rare these days. You should be proud.

Thanks for sharing your great story. I'm sure it was special to him. What a way to remember him, every time you now sit behind the wheel of your car.

Thanks for posting, it will inspire others just to realise how short life can be, and make a difference in a nice way while you're alive. This is something money can't buy. You did a wonderful thing; but it makes it all the harder when true mates are parted.

I've lost 4 mates myself aged 31,33 and 61, 64 recently, they all had rides in my snake and apparently never stopped talking excitedly about it. I tenderly went to their funerals with Viper and was comforted by relatives saying "oh my" this is it the car he never stopped talking about.

Help others to smile when you can... its worth more than a frown.

thank you again for all the kind words. i would have given him the car let alone let him drive it if it would have meant he would have been on this earth for a longer time. he was my best friend and will be dearly missed.
