Like many, it has been a dream of mine to own a Viper since I was a kid. I'm finally getting close to making that dream a reality. I came across a 94 RT/10 that, to me, seems like one of the nicest examples I've ever seen. I wanted to post and maybe get some feedback and opinions on it. Maybe one of you recognize it, and know some history on it. It's has some tasteful cosmetic mods, but for the most part looks like it hasn't been modified too heavily. Comes with hard and soft top and original wheels. $35,900 with 22,000 miles. It's more than I wanted to spend, but if it's truly as good as it appears I'd rather pay more than get stuck with one that ends up being a headache. It just has a look to it that feels different than many I've seen. They say it is mint condition and it looks like it from the pictures. Anyway, just wanted to get some opinions from experienced Viper owners.

Wow looks like a great car for a great price, I would definitely check it out, bring someone who knows Vipers with you. Good luck in your quest.

Great Car. I had a 94 for 7 years! I put 14k on it and sold it this year with a total of 28k. All of my friends, family begged me NOT to sell the car. I had 3 tops w/the car, Go to Steve at Autoform Group ( tell steve dave sent you ) and buy the fast back top, in BLACK, omg looked sooo good. Whole different car. AS far as the car goes, there are bullet proof engines as long as there were taken care of. I have a 06 Conv. it's nice too. Different car. If i had the room, i would have keep both. Try to get them to lower the price, most dealers / owner will come down. Don't buy it unseen , never. pay the ticket and look at it, take it to a Viper tech. it's well worth it.

Try to find someone who knows the car so you can get the history as to what is original and what has been replace as far as maintenance items. Would hate to start down the list of needed updates and have to do them all. Looks like a beauty. First check is to just drive it and see how much and how soon it overheats.

Just want to to be clear, are you saying pretty much all early Gen 1's overheat at some point? In all my readings, I've never came across where that is a major problem that happens frequently.

I've been around for a long time and have no knowledge of GEN 1 cars having overheating problems. Not on the street nor on the track. In the early days of Viper Days, nearly all of the cars were GEN 1 and performed remarkably well in both cold and hot weather climates. BTW, I think you would be well-served to review cars available on Craigslist, E-Bay, Autotrader, Hemmings, etc. I would purchase from a private party that can tell you the history of the car and produce service records. I would not purchase until a certified Viper tech performed a pre-purchase inspection.

I have a 93 and I got the top from Steve at auto form. I really like it. I also like the wheels on the 94 your looking at. A 22,000 miles is about right for a Gen 1 that someone has had and tried to keep the milage down Mine is at 23,00. Viper tech is a good idea and get a history report in case someone has restored a wrecked viper. There are only about 450 left the first year they ran out from underneath the drivers. You need to practice before you punch it. \The sills get very hot and usually bubble the paint so if they aren't bubbled someone had them repainted. Does it have air. Cars get hot inside but mine never overheated and I tracked mine a few times on hot days. Only mods I did was the exhaust Borla headers and and induction tubes have all original parts. So it looks like if a collector wants it you have the tires. I paid $35,000 for mine back in about 2006. Even if you pay for it and it is good you will not lose much or you might even make money on it. They are starting to coupon price. I would love to see viperman4125's top. Mine is in red matching the car.

Thank you all for the information, it’s a done deal. My dream has finally become reality. Took 30 years, but well worth the wait. She’ll be here on Wednesday.

Enjoy the car its awesome, my first Viper was a Yellow 95 RT10 , back in 95 it was a show stopper it was so cool, I modified it with just bolt on stuff, headers, honed intake manifold, throttle bodys, exhaust no cats, roller rockers , K&N filters ect all easy stuff, that car was fast as hell, with 308s in the rear I could burn the tires right off the rims, miss it so much.
