Thumbs up on the Optima.. Definitely the best bang for the buck concerning vibration and abuse with a battery. :)
(I run two in my 24v offroader)

Red top here also. Although mine is in the trunk and the stock battery is still in its place. I just used a battery hold down setup and some additional cables. No more dead batteries from running all the electronics with the car off....

Cutting the post to allow clearance has no negative effect on the batteries performance. I had to cut down the negative post to avoid contact with the frame rail. It's been over a year with no problems.

So said AnthonyGTS

I have an Optima Red Top and the comfort in knowing it matches my car (even though you can't see it).
OMG...You are a bigger poser than me!!! Didn't think that was possible, but there it is!!! :)
I guess I shouldn't mention the painted coolant overflow bottle and powder coated vapor canister bracket BEHIND the front facia!! ;)

Mine fit fine.I bought it at the local Advance auto parts. The only post that would come in contact with the frame was the ground so no biggie.I actually just left the little plastic cap on the post for the heck of it.

If you cut the posts too far, the battery will not work, ask me how I know. I fixed mine but I don't suggest what I did for anybody else. I am using a yellow top in a '96 GTS. As Fred said, if you check old threads you will see the problem with the battery design and cutting the posts.
