Seriously, if you can't you can't and we all know that you would if you could....ha, how is that for use of sayings!!!

I just found out that my town is doing a dedication for first responders for 9/11 (our fire house lost someone) and, of course, they scheduled it for 9:30 on Sunday. While I would love to be there, I just can't think of not being at the OCC event. Besides, we've already been honored by the state, so how much honoring can you do? We do what we can and its not for the sake of being honored.

Anyway, sorry, I digress.

I am doing the absolute BEST I CAN TODAY...but now am (ARRRGHHHHH) waiting on a phone call...THIS phone call will determine if we can go or not SUNDAY!
I hear ya on the firefighters' being honored...it's GREAT that they ARE honored, as we all respect the job that you all do....and sure, of COURSE you should be honored, it's a tough profession to be in.
How often does an OCC cruise come along??? ANXIOUSLY awaiting a final call here, THEN can post whether we can attend or not...and if lunch is still available to sign up for? THANK YOU Peter...you've truly made me 'feel' like we really HAVE TO BE THERE! Clock is a-ticking~~juli

Okay...(orange...lol...orange county choppers???!)...still bustin my ASP today to get confirmation for a driver for Sunday a.m., do NOT have that yet...but we ARE GOING TO attend...even if it means we will be late...if that is okay???? We'd arrive probably around noon? AND, can we get signed up for the LUNCHEON, or is it too late for that?
WE ARE GOING...I finally managed to get our plans CHANGED...this is just too important!
We wanna see those guys, see SKEETER, and meet the others who we 'know' from the forum, but do NOT know in person! WE WILL BE THERE...so far, we'll be there late.
If I get confirmation that we HAVE a morning driver, I will CONTACT YOU BO!!!!! THEN, we can all ride up together from exit 24/thruway! Sorry this has been a PITA, but you guys convinced me to really FIGHT AND TRY...that's what I'm doing! THANK YOU!

Sloatsburg Rest Area - 9:30 AM
No stopping- This will be a drive by/catch up
Wait just past the fuel pumps ready to jump on the thruway

From Albany (north)
NYS Thruway Exit 24 - 8:30 AM


Directions:

From the NORTH and SOUTH:

NYS Thruway North (I-87) to Exit 17 towards Route 17K.
Turn right at the light onto 17K and follow for ½ mile to OCC.

From the EAST and WEST:

I-84 to Exit 7S - Union Ave.
Follow Union Ave for approximately 1/6 of a mile.
Turn right onto Route 17K and follow for ½ mile to OCC .


FYI - the Newburgh Garden Hilton Hotel is adjacent to the OCC property (walking distance) if anyone is inclined to arrive the night before.

Good to see that Juli can also make it now, as few meetings as she and Mike can attend this one should make up for them all... everyone should better make it on an American Chopper episode, I wanna be able to see you guys on TV making the NY/CT VCA world famous!
