Did a quick jaunt to the ALMS race picking up a friend along the way. Meet Mr. Woodhouse and team, what a great bunch of folks. Got a couple of laps in on the track some corners at 60-70%. Drive up got 20MPG with lots of traffic in LA and beyond, drive home I'm guessing about 23MPG. (I haven't filled it but I have over a 1/4 tank whereas the same route up I was on fumes). I put it in 6th and cruised ~75-85.

What a great car for a road trip but travel light.

:drive:

Yes ALMS was really a race to remember. I've got a feeling they will be talking about that one in 20 yrs. with the reverence and awe with which we speak about the original Trans Am or Can Am races.

Wallbanger, I do the same thing with my car. I just get it out, fill it up and just burn gas. I like to just to row through the gears, blip the throttle, load up lateral G's, and drive the car as an ends in itself, for the pleasure of driving it.

Was that about the best racing EVER ?!?!?!

As good as it was to be there it's always a better view on TV. I watch a little last night. I was in the pits when they fired up one of the old Chaparrals. They went through a warm up cycle. When they shut it off....I applauded...I just seemed like the right response. The vette got taken out right in front of me...sorry for him. I want to see the reply of the rest of that lap. The vette's seem like a bunch of.....well, let's just leave that one alone as this isn't the alley.

I never did find out what happened to #99 in the WC race. I'll need to watch that race later also.

That by far is the only drawback to a gen 4.

My gen 2 I put about 2500 miles a year on it. I've owned the '09 since middle of April...not quite 6 months and I'm over 3K.
