Re: overhyped \'05 FORD GT autoweek [email protected]
You could start the same thread and say "overhyped '05 Dodge SRT-10 Road and Track 12.5 @ 116" , because that's exactly what they got. "Track" conditions, driver, launch methods, etc all vary greatly from day-to-day and rag-to-rag. Believe me, the GT is nowhere near a 12.0 @ 121 car, just like the SRT-10 is nowhere near a 12.5 @ 116 car. The average for a GT would be closer to 11.6 @ 125. People always assume the worst test of the car they don't own is the most accurate. It tends to be the reverse when people get their hands on them in the real world.
For a same day, stock car test result, this is more realistic of the straight line gap between a GT, SRT-10 and C6, independant of what the actual crappy times are. JHenne*** was involved in this test and verified the heat and conditions.
GT/Viper
0-100= 8.6/9.6
0-150= 19.5/24.1
100-150= 10.9/14.6
0-60 = 3.6/4.4
So you have +1, +4.6, +3.7, +.8
For comparison, in the same test, the gaps between the SRT-10 and the C6 were:
SRT/C6
0-100= 9.6/10.7
0-150= 24.1/28.9
100-150= 14.6/18.2
0-60= 4.4/4.8
Gaps of +1.1, +4.8, +3.6, +.4
