I have thought about doing that too, but I heard it's junk. Doesn't really protect all that well. But please go ahead and try it and let us all know how it works.

Here is what I have used.

Paint-gard

Although it is for motorcycles I have had good success with it. Does not use an adhesive, can be reused if your carefull in keeping them clean. Easy to cut to any shape, etc. I use two full sizes on the roof covering my black stripes. I cut to shape two pieces to fit around the NACA duct, although you have to be very careful since the airflow can take them off here. I have cut them to fit the front bumper. I use them primarily to cover my black stripes rather than cover the entire front end.

PM me with any questions. :2tu:

Really..... lot's of guy's will use painter's tape going to far away shows. Any adhesive comes off with quick detailer.
