Passenger side Window Regulator for Gen II

OK, done some searches and understand this is a tough item. So I figure instead of beating my head against the wall, I am sure my Viper community has done enough beating already.

What is the solution to needing a window regulator? Also I have mine out but I think I could get away with just a clip. However, from my clip I don't exactly see how the thing works. The motor seems to be working but the cables were off the regulator.

What do you mean the cables were off the regulator? Do you mean they are not inside the motor of the regulator? I've had to "fix" my regulator after the cables got tangled up once. Key is to not mess with the window control after the coupling breaks and the cables are loose. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Use the search function for this topic, there are 2 posts out there, 1 from me and 1 from another fella who have successfully repaired one in the past. It can be a tough fix depending on how bad a condition the regulator is in. If it's beyond repair PM me, I might be interested in salvaging it for the right price.

Maybe you should post a pic.
I just looked at mine yesterday and it looked like the cables were off but I think thats just the way it looks.
Maybe look at the other door and see?

Unfortunately it seems that the last forum upgrade changed the page naming nomenclature and all references to older thread are no longer valid. Maybe a search would relocate it and then you could post the updated link back here.....

I had the same problem, my window clip broke causing the cables to tangle in the regulator. To be honest it was a very easy fix. The metal case of the regulator is held in place by a rivet. You will have to drill it out but not all the way through the whole assembly, stop drilling as soon as the metal case/plate is off. Go to home depot or lowe's and purchase the same size cable (get a little extra than what you'll need) and get the little crimp nuts or whatever you call them little things that get crimped at the end of the cables. You'll have to use some common knowledge and just repair it back to the way it was. Take special care to examine how the cables enter and exit the regulator. Once repaired you won't be able to re-rivet the plate back on so what I did is used JB weld on the edges of the plate and stuck it back in place with the rest of the assembly, I also used about 3 or 4 heavy duty zip ties to wrap around the metal plate and rest of the assembly to assure it wouldn't pop off. It's been a year and I've not had any problems with it. If you were close by I'd help you do it and you'd save a ton but give it a shot and see what happens. Either way the dealer won't fix they'll only replace so you really have nothing to lose at this point. good luck...

Just to update the thread slightly, When My Clip fell apart the wires did wrap themselves around the motor To repair this I carefully drilled off the top of the rivet holding the wire cover, I untangled the wires which were chewed up and twisted by placing one end of the wire in a bench vice and pulling it straight, I used a gas blow lamp on the wires which helped to get them straight I then put the wires on the shuttle(clip) and ended up pushing the winding wheel back over the steel shaft. I replaced the cover and drilled a small hole vertically down into the end of the cover shaft. I then got a small self tapping screw and carefully cut a thread in the end of the shaft. 2yrs down the line everything is still working fine
