Paxton or Warranty?

I purchased an 03 SRT-10 with an extended warranty from Bill Pemberton @ Woodhouse and I am interested in putting on a Paxton. I want the Paxton power everyone is talking about. I purchased the extended warranty because I always heard how expensive Vipers can be to repair. I would appreciate any thoughts on the following items:

1. If I get a Paxton, how much warranty work will I pay for when they decide not to honor the original or extended warranty? How big a financial risk would I be taking?
2. If I get a Paxton, do I get someone in Indiana who has never installed a Paxton or do I ship it to someone experienced like Woodhouse or DC Performance? I like the idea of getting a local installer (easy access if needed and less expensive) but I am concerned about a new mechanic not knowing the "tricks" of an experienced Paxton installer.
3. What is the value of having the selling dealer (Woodhouse) do the install? Should I pay an extra $2500 dollars plus shipping for Woodhouse (they charge $10,500+/- and I can get it done for $8,000 +/- locally) in case I need future warranty "consideration"? Woodhouse/Pemberton have been first class.
4. Do I keep the 3.55 gears or should I put back in my 3.07s?
5. I plan on attending Viper days. Do I worry about driving the car ******* the track with the Paxton? Only a few Paxton owners have taken their cars to the track. I don't want to hurt the car.

Thanks for your input.

I personally don't have a Paxton but becuase of the warrenty issues etc. I paid a much higher price to get one in Canada then I could have imported the same BRAND NEW car for a much lower price for from the states. Same reason I won't be putting on a paxton supercharger for at least a year of two! I'd say if your going to do it send it to a shop such as dc performance or woodhouse where you know that they know what they are doing! People are having differential problems and traction problems so its a so so on switching back to 3.07's...personally I'd stick with the 3.55's and upgrade tires!

Warranty is going to be an issue with just about any mods you do, so if that is your # 1 concern, keep the car stock.

It depends on the dealer and what kind of repair needed, to me it's worth the risk.

Go with experience...Priceless

OH NO, NOT AGAIN...It's a subject that has not been resolved !!! I kept my 3.07 .Why ? With all the TQ of paxton no need to stress the diff more. I'm yet to hear of one person with Paxton plus 3.07 that had any problems...

I tried going to the track...Must have roll bar, fire jacket, 5 point harness...None yet

6....Go for it ... :2tu: :2tu: :2tu: :2tu:

Thanks. I am more interested in hearing how the car drives with the Paxton and the 3.55 gears. I have read that the 3.07 gears actually are a better match with the Paxton's TQ. Thanks.

Paxton claims that their set up will not effect your factory warranty...due to some type of SEMA law or something to that effect.

Here is is straight from their site

Q: Will the installation of the supercharger affect the factory warranty on the vehicle?
A: Legally, a manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle. However, several dealerships are resistant to maintaining a vehicle with aftermarket equipment. The best course of action is to locate a dealership to service your vehicle that has common sense and develop a good working relationship with that dealer.
